There are some restaurants that have dress codes and such, however generally they tell you at the time of reservation and make it 100% known so it isn’t a personal thing

TBH, it's a good thing he didn't ask that night. I mean, he was in a mindset of thinking he was always lagging a few steps behind, hoping that his Nat 20 luck won't run out. What he needed was to be truthful with himself and to learn the lessons he did in that old restaurant later on so that he could realize that he more than earned the right to be by her side. Now, as it stands, he proposed as her equal and will live out their lives as her equal instead of constantly dreding the day that "she'll realize he's not worthy."

Interestingly enough, Motenai Usoya would have gotten in huge trouble if he did spread that rumor. Japan's Penal Code states that anyone who defames or obstructs a business, even if what they're saying is true, is subject to prison time or a fine. All the business has to do is prove that they took a financial hit by the rumors.

no offense but a man whose job is to greet and seat customers should not act like he owns the place. Even admitting to deleting their reservation alone is enough to get someone fired. A person whose attitude will never change is not deserving of a good life. A position like that even in a high end place still does not make much money and looking down on others just means he is talking about himself too. A smart person would have asked for the manager but its a story so how else you gonna drag it out till D day. Man was even a coward so thats a sure fire way to never get hired in the same industry again. I imagine they removed his 3rd leg and properly educated him with videos he could no longer enjoy....

I imagine that the host didn't deal with people with f- you money. People with that kind of money don't usually dress flashy, they dress for comfort. Their clothes don't always have a brand on it, usually opting for strong and durable pieces. Some even like to dress as slobs to just see how people treat them.
