I instantly subbed when I saw how many approach discs you have. This guy must know his stuff.

Never assume more discs means knowledge... it could mean I am dumb with money! :D But hey! I will take all the subs I can get. Thanks!

I recently did this with midranges. Good way to find the right discs. I throw the Culprit in that slot. And then a soft neutron Envy for a little more straightness. And then a total eclipse envy for straight to force over shots.

Nice video - great idea. Throwing different discs for the same distance and throw type on same day, same field, same target. Great way to sort throw a pile of discs. It's just so hard to go to a field rather than a course on a beautiful afternoon......

I totally feel you... but it is also really nice when you have spent that time in the field and have some extra confidence in your throws. I am trying to work on my delayed gratification... putting in the work now so I can reap the benefits later... but I don't always succeed. :D Thanks for commenting!

I love the Järn as a step up from the Berg, fits perfectly in my hand as the zone is a lite too big to get a good grip.

Great video! Gave me some inspiration for my next field work day. I absolutely would love to purchase that home made disc retriever. I was thinking of trying to make my own for the same reason.

How funny! I am in Germany right now... I just flew in today. I am in Koblenz for a couple of days before I head to Paris, and then I will swing back through Frankfurt next week for one day and I plan to try to play a course before I have to fly out.

I did something similar with putters not to long ago. Threw a bunch and removed the ones that just didn't feel good. Narrowed it down to 2 or 3 and then worked with them. So many discs seem to fly about the same and finding that one that feels right in he hand can make the difference.
@ogdiscgolfer4 ай бұрын
Totally! We have so many good discs to choose from. Which is great, but it can leave you always wondering if you should be throwing something else. :D

Berg is love, Berg is life…I was looking forward to the long throw with the Landmine and missed it. I went back and realized you threw it and I thought it was the Caltrop. Does the Landmine roll? I want to bag one, just because it is such an odd looking disc. I wonder what your thoughts are on the Toro, isn’t it a 5 speed? It seems to me speed of the other discs are not higher than 4. I do not think you are alone with your love of the A3. It seems to me that KZbin is currently in agreement with you. I love the Harp, but that slot is filled by a Järn. At my glow league, I sometimes switch up my Järn with an Anvil. Thanks for the content.

The Landmine rolls like a champ... perfectly squared edges... now i haven't put it through extensive testing as far as rollers, but I feel like it would be a great utility roller. The one thing I wish (as with several other discs) is that it didn't get beat up so quickly. But, it is a surprisingly fun disc for me. Toro is a 4 speed... same as the Harp, Entropy and Pig (:D) And I keep forgetting about the Jarn! I have been meaning to test it out... I have it on a list and forget to include it! Will work it in... in the future!

Hey Pete, Cool Video, Foot ball field seems like a really nice place to practice, I am trying to get started, Been to InDiGo once, I have one putter, I want to get a 2-3 more discs, Are there any essentials ones I should look at? Thank you.
@ogdiscgolfer4 ай бұрын
Great to hear that you are getting started! And then you ask the most open ended question that everryone on the internet would give a different answer to. I tend to shy away from giving specific disc recommendations as far as brands or molds because there are so many good ones and I never know what is avaialble to you and your budget. Putter and midranges are what I tell folks to start with as they will help you learn the basics of how the disc flies and how you can start to make them fly different lines by changing angle, speed and spin. Look at something that is a little understable or neutral rather than going for something overstable (if you don't know those terms... great homework assignment :D). Don't be in a rush to buy too many discs unless you enjoy spending money and have time to figure them all out. To be honest I would recommend getting a couple more of the same putter so that you could practice the same shot 3 times to learn more efficiently. But, you will need to be a student of how you throw and learn and go from there. Good luck!

@@ogdiscgolfer fair enough, not sure it has the stability you seem to be looking for anyways. More of a straight to slightly stable option
