Love it!! 😂😂 I was just thinking the other day, does Pete still have that Buzzz? Hahahaha glad to see the results!!

Yeah I've been banged up so it was a terrible time when you lent it to me but if you wouldn't mind letting me use it for a little bit longer I promise I will probably give it back to you :-)

Hey, Pete, I want to give some insight as a longtime users of the Tech Disc. 1) Tech Disc reports a guess of where the disc will land, but by default it will not account for skips. Where the disc touches the ground in the simulation is where the distance measurement stops. That said, you can check a box to also account for distance the disc travels in the simulation via skips and rolls. 2) The simulator by default choses the last Pro Tour stop as the simulated environment, but you can change that in the settings to a default field. This is a lot more useful, in my opinion. 3) You can also tweak the disc settings to be a faster disc, with more or less glide, and more fade (though turn isn't adjustable, it's tied to the fade metric here). 4) You are able to throw pretty far (and very smooth) despite a) horizontal shoulder collapse (rounding) and b) vertical shoulder collapse (elbow drop), but you're doing a lot of other things well. I think if you focus on swing changes to get rid of those 2 things, you'll be throwing faster, with more spin. It'll be interesting to see how you're able to use the Tech Disc to improve your form. I have those same problems (and injuries due to them) so I'm hoping to see your progress in the future. 🙂

Thanks so much... I am looking forward to figuring some of this out... but I also know I hate to read the manual...:D You haven't gotten a drone pilots certification as well? That is what I am trying to work through at the moment... and my brain hurts. Thanks so much for watching!

@@ogdiscgolfer Drones are awesome but unfortunately I have no experience with them. That said, I am a tech guy by career, and I do plan on getting one at some point. For local course flyovers at least. 😁

Much more to say about the video. My disappointment with the Tech Disc is that when I got mine it only came in “Buzz”. I have zero Buzz discs in my collection. I am very happy with my midrange discs and am not looking to change up. I hope to comment more later. Glad to see your recovery is coming along.

"Liberated from" is a much better term than "stole it from". Using it in a sentence, "I liberated this TechDisc from RobbieC ." Thank you for the video it was informative.

Hey Pete, I'd be really interested to hear what your other tech disc numbers are. Your speed and spin are fairly similar to mine but I'm not throwing my Mid-Range discs anywhere near that far. I think I've gotten into the habit of throwing with too much hyzer.
@ogdiscgolfer2 ай бұрын
I don't have my phone with me right now but I'll try to remember to come back and tell you some of my other numbers. I do know that nose and angle and hyzer are really key in distance. And that's one of the next things I wanna work on looking at. This was just the first step in playing with the TechDisc but I know there's a lot more information to be had. Stay tuned :-)

10Grit (Great Username!) So a good throw out in the field that says it would go 333ft was Speed 61.9, Spin 1,105rpm, Hyzer 9.1, Nose 2.7 deg, Wobble 2.8 deg, and Launch 5.5 deg. I only know that what Robbie told me last year is that I need to work on Nose angle and Launch angle... and I am hoping to figure that out this weekend. Until then, I am just flinging into the net. :D

Not surprised to hear you are fairly consistent with your throws. Gotta be careful with those soccer nets! I was in a field once, thinking a soccer net would catch... it did not. Thankfully no one was behind it!

@@ogdiscgolferI’m good, still playing in the world of photography and just started this year playing or trying to, disc golf. Little disappointed on my driving distance of 200 ish feet but hey, I didn’t start actually driving until I had 16 years of life experience.

As you know it takes time to develop (photo dad joke :D) I try to emphasize with new players, to develop a solid control game over distance... because it will stay with you even as distance comes and goes. The guys I always worry about on the course are the ones that are dangerous approaching and on the green. Keep at it and have fun with it!

I am not screaming. You can throw and then get the toss registered when picking it up. Bluetooth does some things great but... it sucks ;D Oh, and please ramble, you are great at putting text afterwards making your rambling to make sense :P

thanks so much. I think I halfway figured that out on my second throw. That it would kind of hold a window of opportunity to get the data. I’ll try to remember that if I take it back out to the fields. I appreciate you saying that about my rambling :-) because as much as I try not to, I will always ramble.:) Cheers

Funny you ask... I just did some field work as a follow up to Tech Disc round 2 video coming out tomorrow... and I checked my recovery distance, and I should have some of that on an upcoming video probably next week. Pre-surgery (My shoulder - rotator, labrum and bicep - 2 years ago, not my belly 6 weeks ago) I hit 500, but my average long throw was 425 ish... I am now happy with 400ft if my back is warmed up and the rest of my body isn't falling apart. I had another pro come up to me last year at the Florence tournament and confessed that he watched my videos and told his wife... "this guyis 53 years old and throws around 300 ft"... then we played together and he said "Dang Pete... you are throwing 400+" so I am not mad. I am not a huge arm, but I do pretty good, for an old guy. :D Now if I can keep from falling apart.

Why are there Swedish flags behind the net? Or is it a local team with a similar shield. Hello from 🇸🇪

@ogdiscgolfer2 ай бұрын
Sorry about that. It does help that I have grown up playing tennis and then disc golf for 30 years and I am also 6'3", so I have some decent levers. But that never stopped me from being jealous of Brad Hammock (Paul Ulibarri's caddy) who is almost a foot shorter than me and would blow my drives out of the water back in the day. We will always be chasing that next guy. Work the crap out of whatever game you've got. If you can't get past 300, then become the most deadly 300ft thrower out there... :D Or do steroids... I am sure there are some good steroids out there that could help us all throw farther (not a doctor, please don't take any medical advice from me. :D)
