I had a completely crap filled day. I laid down and prepared myself to cry and maybe eat a gallon of ice cream when my arm hit the remote and this video began to play. I laughed out loud so much and and now I am feeling hopeful again. Basically I just needed you both to know how fabulously awesome you both are. Also who the hell needs Ellen when we have the two of you to keep us in stitches

It’s one thing to be rejected for something you initiate but to have TedX and a publisher both initiate contact and ask for you to do something for them and then reject you… that’s just wrong! It’s their loss!!!

I cannot believe you got rejected from TEDx, Shane! I also volunteer for TEDx and I am doing the speaker acquisition for 3 years now and ever since I am dreaming of having you two at our TEDx event but it is in Germany/Cologne unfortunately. If you ever come to Germany I would be absolutely thrilled to have you at our TEDx event. I think you should definitely give a TED(x) Talk one day!

I was rejected from Ball State University in their program to become a teacher of hearing impaired kids. Instead, I went to Northern Illinois University and changed my major to teaching visually impaired kids. I moved to Florida, got a job right away, AND married a visually impaired man. If I'd gone to Ball State we NEVER would have met. Rejection isn't necessarily a bad thing!

It hurts to be rejected, especially after you told family band friends. They will tease you every chance they get. You are trying to forget but someone bring it up again. You laugh but you are tired of hearing it. Good advice Shane…don’t say anything until the contract is signed. Do you have a fan club or does that happen any more?

You two bring me great joy. I lost my dog 4 years ago, my wife of 53 years 2 years ago, and my best friend of 50 years, last year. Can’t be sad, as I’ve had great fortune, A beautiful wife , a son, daughter, and a beautiful Granddaughter, the love of my life. So why am I telling two people I’ve met on Facebook this? Because about a year ago I started watching KZbin much more than television, real people living real lives. And I came upon yours. I look forward to every episodes and reminds me of my late wife Becky, and I and how happy we were and the great .fun we had bantering with each other. Thank you both for the hard work I know it takes to produce a glimpse of your lives and love to share with us. There is no doubt you will be wonderful parents, so get the ball rolling!😊🍷

I’ve been rejected multiple times in music school auditions but still managed to climb up to a master’s degree in piano performance and now I have my own successful teaching studio business. At the time I took those rejections incredibly hard but now I recognize it as part of my growth.

My rejection…I wanted to be a cheerleader for our community peewee football team. We were young. The peewee team was supported by the local Catholic Church. The cheerleaders were “No cuts”. If you wanted to cheer, you could. We still went through tryouts to see who would be in the front, the back…Well, at the end of the day, they said they changed the criteria for cheerleaders from no cuts to you have to make it. Every single girl who was there that day made it, except me. I was the only one who did not make it. The. Only. One.

8th grade, New school in Baltimore, old school in Georgia, originally from Texas. Needless to say Baltimore had hostile issues with my accent. I auditioned for a role in the Christmas play, A Christmas Carol. I was 13, & already 5'9". Being a tall, thin, girl, who "talked funny", I was given the role of the Ghost of Christmas Future. No lines, an extra long hooded robe that covered me completely. Even my face, so no one could tell I was a girl. I climbed a ladder to a platform, stood there, silent & covered, & pointed a droopy finger at nothing. The southern girl inme wanted to wag that droopy finger in admonition Someone off stage read my lines. With what sounded to me like an accent. Southern girl wanted to tap dance back to the ladder to get down. That was the first & last time I tried out for anything. Much to the frustration of the girls basketball coach!

Hannah, I relate to your Dorthy rejection. I tried out for the role of Grettle in our 6th grade play of Hansel and Grettle. I got to be a cookie. I held up a card board gingerbread man cookie that just stood there in front of the witches house. No lines, no movement, nothing. 😆

Ha ha at least you got to be a part that was actually a part! I was 8 trying out for Wizard of Oz for our school play. All the younger kids ALL wanted the part of Toto! My friend got it 🐶. I was gutted. However, I was offered the part of ... 🌺 A POPPY! That's not even a part!! It's a flower! WTF! Twenty years later, I was working at a group home for physically challenged individuals and they all got the good parts, of course. I was asked to play the talking tree with the apples 🌳. I played the heck out of that tree lol. By the end the play from rehearsals and 2 performances, I had a scratchy, gruff voice but I was NOT A POPPY LOL

When I was in 6th grade I tried out to be a cheerleader for the basketball team. I was sure I would get it bc I was a cheerleader the year before so I was a Shoe-in. Alas, I was not chosen and my heart was completely broken. (Still kind of stings).

Not really comparable but... Peter Horning, if you're out there... 7th grade school dance I asked you if you wanted to dance with me, and you gave me a flat out "no." You've won the award for most prominent rejection memory. 👏🏆 You missed out 😘 Ps I love knowing some publisher out there has to live with the regret of passing on the opportunity to sign Shane as an author.
