That part really shocked me and made me sad. His mom was such a big part of his life when the accident happened and she flew to the Seattle hospital and had to make all those decisions for him, when he couldn't and then worry that he was going to resent and hate her no matter what decision she made. And all those hours of surgery, sitting and waiting and worrying about him. As a mom of a young son, I totally related to all that. I've only watched the first video of them telling the story of how the accident happened and the first few hours and days at the hospital and then this video. So maybe I'm just unaware of possibly a slow gradual exit of his mom in Loren's life?.....So that's why this revelation is such a shock to me.

Concerning the questions about your sex life, I do get how annoying it is as a disabled person myself, but in your case, I can understand why people ask. Your channel is educational, you talk about how Loren does stuff with his disability, including how he goes to the bathroom which is pretty personal, so I do get why people ask, but I also get why you don't want to talk about it... I know Squirmy and Grubs have done a series of videos where they talk about intimacy without getting into the details of it (obviously)... Since there is zero information out there on sex and disability, I can see an educational purpose in talking about this but again, I understand why you don't.

I’ve been struggling a bit with midlife body changes and exhaustion... as I was cleaning I remember Loren saying something about appreciating that he got to experience legs in his other life . And now he has a different life (something like that) and how he is happy in his new life. Such an example of allowance and acceptance.. something I really am working on developing as I turn 50, and my vitality and body is shifting .. thank you Loren for the inspiration. For the sentiment that I can enjoy This new life and way of being in it while appreciating the past life .. and let go of trying to stay the same .. After weeks in hospital and rehab, I brought her home to live with us. I fought HARD for respite help , just once or twice , so I could chill or shop, Christmas shop. Go on a date with hubby. It was complicated by the fact I also had and infant and a toddler, I realize. But there was nothing available fir and caregivers 30 plus years ago. Do take advantage of the available respite care. Don't wait until you are close to blowing up. You will feel incredibly guilty if that happens . I wish the two of you as much of a wonderful life as you can huggs

Y’all are the coolest couple! I’m so sorry that you have to go through so much, so young. Totally different, but my husband and I lost our daughter as an infant 3.5 years ago when I was 24 and he was 22. It was very traumatic and life changing. We were just kids ourselves, and had to bury our own. It caused us to have to grow up and mature a lot quicker than we anticipated. I see that in y’all too. It sucks, but you learn to cope and become stronger because of all that you go through. I’m hopeful that with technology advancing, Loren is able to live a long, semi-normal life! To be honest, it's a rather absurd question (although obviously on people's minds, to be fair). If this very inspiring couple doesn't object, may I explain that Loren does not possess any physical means of copulating, having no genitalia at all. No hemicorporectomy survivors do, due to the drastic nature of their amputation. I'm sure they have other means of being loving and intimate though. Bless you both and best wishes for the future!

People are curious. I always want to know details, and it’s ok to ask questions. Some questions aren’t appropriate for just anyone, but an answer might help the askers not to worry as much about something similar happening in their lives. It’s a personal choice whether anyone wants to answer, but I don’t think people are being inappropriate in asking. Wouldn’t you be curious how you could be intimate with your partner if one of you lost the parts it normally took for such an experience? Wouldn’t you worry about it? Wouldn’t you like to have some peace of mind? Many times, once people have answers and thus their curiosity is satisfied, they can easily move on to focus on other things. It’s not right to shame people for being curious. How do you even know if a question can be answered if it is never asked?

To Loren, bro you have to be the strongest person to have gone through what you have and still maintain a postive attitude. I respect that a lot.

"I live happily!"❤ You make me rethink my outlook on my life. Constantly stressing about trivial things. Truly, God bless you both.

I don't have enough words to express the feelings I have for you both !!! I discovered you recently. I have children your age and I am deeply affected by this stupid and dramatic accident. But what stands out from all of this... is the courage of you two... The will, the dedication and the immeasurable love for each other. My admiration is endless. I sincerely hope you are happy !!!
