I often tell people. If they want a movie centered around a Stormtrooper from Star Wars or a SS Trooper from well real life. This film kind of fills that void. A void that sadly needs filled but is a subject not touched upon. I love twist at the end of the film as well.

Holy cannoli macaroni and cheese! Good sir, I'm late as hell to this, but I genuinely greatly enjoyed watching this insightful video analysis! Thank you for putting it together and publishing it for chumps like myself to watch! I'm a sucker for symbolism and whatchamacallits because I have way too much free time on my hands, but I really can't blame anyone for not fully understanding this movie. Frankly, I found it difficult to fully understand for the longest time myself! Despite admitting that you struggle to describe the movie properly, I think you did a remarkable job! Real groovy shizzle. I wish you the jolliest of Decembers and the merriest of Christmases!

I've only watched this movie twice first time I was a teenager and the second was 4 or 5 years ago and I recently watched Pluto on Netflix and this movie popped into my head several times while watching it, I may need to watch Jin-Roh again to see why.

You absolutely deserve WAY more views. This anime can be analyzed in so much depth, and you did a great job in a short time. Props!

Bro the soundtrack was masterpiece work of Yoko Kanno and her then Husband Hajime Mizoguchi. A world class cello player and the world class composer Yoko Kanno created their most haunting and for me personal their greatest work. (They also worked on Escaflowne together which can be felt in tracks like "Shadow of Doubt".) The soundtrack is so darn fantastic I bought a collectors edition CD of it, the only OST I ever went out to buy back then... this movie to me is absolutely amazing.. but I also set very high value on the OST.

It's a good one but not for everyone. If you're a person who likes slow pace type of a film then this is the one for you. It's all about guilt, government and violence and I'd suggest watching this film with a cup of tea on a rainy day.👌

If you want to see what Oshii would have done to this movie if he was the director he did two live action movies set in the same universe and following the exploits of Kerberos. Though these movies are pretty hard to swallow as it's basically Oshii going full arthouse on these.

on the topic of how nobody payed attention to this especially when theyres so many well known writers/artists playing in it. i feel like its because at the time people were trying to forget how devastating some REAL riots in japan were and how heavy terrorism was (jin roh literally released in 2001. 9/11)

If there ever be a movie revolving around the story of the game Half-Life 2 and thus around "the Universal Union, that small minds call "The Combine "", as Dr. Breen states in one of his famous propaganda talks, and their occupation of earth, their systematical suppression of humans and how they achieve to assimilate or integrate humans and other forms of life into their labour/work-force and into their armed forces, I want it to be an anime like Jin-Roh, for it revolves around the same questions of morality. It should by no way be a movie with a real cast, because there is no way, I can see this done right with a full cast and real-life locations with vfx. The dark and gritty atmosphere Jin-Roh has to offer, is just the right type. Anyone who just played Half-Life 2 through, only once, and only as a "typical" first-person shooter, who never did look or listen to hints and clues given, from a world building that was done so really really well, they will not comprehend. But those who know and took part in discussions in online boards, who watched and still watches countless videos or who even created a video on this subject, like analysing the unhumanely cruelty of this fierce faction, they'll know what I mean. Yes I'd love to see Combine Soldiers and CPs in a Jin-Roh kind of way. In many ways, the Kerberos Panzer Corps and the Combine Soldiers or CPs from Half-Life2 have a lot in common.

What i got from this movie is that we get too caught up in trying to figure out who is the wolf and who is the victim but the truth is, people are just people, doing what they think is best, no one is evil.
