Rejection is better than regret

I get a lot of comments and concerns from my viewers and students about rejection and how men get rejected more than women do. Overall men should experience more rejection when it comes to dating but that doesn't mean that women have it better than we do. I explain why with a couple anecdotes.

rejection stings until you talk to the next girl.... regret can last a lifetime...the what ifs can kill you... I dont remember the times I got turned down, unless there was a funny story that went along with it.... I can still remember the times in high school or college that I didnt go for it with a girl I liked....

Damn was this super cute girl (atleast to me she was) At a concert, she kept looking at me, I kept looking at her, we crossed paths like 4 times that night, and everytime we catched eachother's gaze, I thought about stepping up to her. At the end of the concert I saw she was with a guy so I didn't talk to her but in hindsight she didn't seem to be close to him, could have been a brother. And yes, I very very much regret not atleast trying..

You're 100% right that regret is worse than rejection. A few months back my friend and I were at a restaurant and this gorgeous waitress was flirting with me, and even kept eluding that she wanted me to ask her out. And I was so not used to attention like that I froze and did nothing. Regretted it ever since.

What did you do to get him? I often find out from friends that a girl that currently hates me used to be attracted to me and blames me for not talking to her. That usually frustrates me because I've been rejected a million times including some very brutal public shaming type rejections. My life experience makes it very difficult for me to believe that any woman would ever have feelings for me let alone one that look pretty good like the ones that tend to friends of friends. This is something that women will never understand.

So true. I used to think women had all the power in dating but that isn't true. A woman can only take what she is offered at the end of the day and walk away and in reality ALOT of women have problems holding a man's commitment. A man is the master of his destiny, although we may face ups and downs, we are in charge.

Girls get to choose but they also carry the burden of a good or bad decision, and bad decisions can cause suffering long term. Also society judges women more than men when it comes to sexual relations, so they got to be choosy and careful with their choises, which leads to less acceptance.

Álvaro França agreed. I always look at from the standpoint of centuries of human female instinct...that is, a woman instinctively knows that any man she sleeps with may get her pregnant. She has to be prepared for the possibility that he could abandon his responsibilities as a father or be a nightmare/annoying to deal with for the next 18+ years. Bottom line, girls are choosy because they instinctively have to consider the needs of a baby (that they *relatively* have no choice but to stick around for). So the guy needs to 1) have personality traits that would make for a great father/head of the household, and/or 2) have great genes to pass on to the children; even a ho is instinctively turned on by these things and turned off by their opposite.

I disagree that men always get rejected more than women. I think it goes both ways, there can be girls who are unattractive or unappealing and they never get chased by guys. Sure, when it’s a guy who women find unappealing, you can call yourself an “incel” but what about women on the same side of that spectrum? I feel like they are overlooked

Hi! I just came to report.... aaaa SUCCESS! (well, it's a success for me) from this afternoon. So long story short Because of years of living in isolation and being a loner and later because of work which basically gives me a few months in winter to have free time, especially free nights.... and me deciding to contact some of my female acquaintances back from HS days, and my first (best, epic, wildest) ex ... it all ended up in me discovering going out and clubbing last winter, met a bunch of new people, but havent kept contacts with any of them, because I kinda wasnt ready for all that. But the good side from all that is that it got me accustomed to want to be among people and to be able to withstand crowds. ... Although, I still cannot function, at all, like on formal dinners with my coworkers, Im too anxious for that, because we differ way too much, like two different worlds, so I cannot be my true self with them. (ok lets make this shorter) I think, from my previous comments, its already known that for some reason I can shed my anxiety off and function only on the techno dance floor, if its dark and crowded enough and nobody knows me there... and thats the best I can do for now, in area of social anxiety. But today's success has to do with something else. The above mentioned forcing my self into social situations was to be exposed to chances of hooking up, after years of not being physical with girls in any way besides a bit of a lap dance, cuddling and kissing during my HS days. But at least all this going out (and before that, a whole year spent in the gym) made me think that I am ready to be sexual, and that girls interest me in that way. - But in recent months, ever since I got my own apartment, which struck a blow in my weak financial situation but I had to do it, and then a cosmetic issue that popped up, which would require a couple of full salaries to fix. All those made me completely loose my mojo in terms of being attracted to women sexually, and I want that good old eager me back on the horse. Meantime, this whole lack of interest, developed into an inability to even talk to girls and I used to be way more confident than that... Which all came in the worst possible moment, now when In the city, I constantly have chances to go out and girls are constantly checking me out (which is a huge tease) ... Instead what I do is go out for a coffee and just stare at the screen... Anyway... I said, enough of that, Im going to do something about it, figure my self out. Why do I have all these inhibitions to talk to, why do I have sexual inhibitions and unable to desire intimacy... - So it was a sunny day, almost noon, got out of the bed (because I was out all night on thursday) .... Oh wait, Thursday, yes the dinner with coworkers, in a fancy resto in the middle of freezing nowhere. There was a girl at the lobby who stared at me, in "that way" ( but she also did it to my colleague) Anyways, back to the story; This afternoon, I was pissed off with my inhibitions, I went for a walk by the beach for a few miles, and then suddenly I run into some amazing hot chick: Black jacket, tanned, black hair, Sandra Bullock face, braids, sunglasses... and she totally smiled on me, and that... that thing right there, got my male instincts back in the game! I didnt believe how simple the whole thing actually was and how easy it was. I gave her "the look", smirked, checked her out, ... andddd walked off. So after 100 meters Im looking back, cant see her.. then after 2 minutes, I looked behind me and somehow she was there! Right behind me! ... So I said to my self... come on, got to talk to her, I have to, whats the worst that can happen! So I did! ... I said "hello, how are u enjoying your walk?".. She didnt hear me, so I tapped her to take off her headphones, and repeated.. She was like, all smiley and just happy that I talked to her, told me to have a nice walk too.... and walked off slowly... Well... Now I remember I could have done more, at least tell her my name, but yeah, didnt remember that, I forgot how I used to do all that before, have to re-train my self. But yeah, its practice. I realized the only way I can build courage like that is with little small series of successes.

I respectfully disagree. Rejection hurts worse than looking back and wondering what could've happened because getting rejected is an insult to who you are as a person. It's saying you're not worthy enough. It makes you question your own self-worth and can send you in a black downward spiral. Some people never get out or even commit suicide. There can also be a ripple effect of drama. For instance, every time you see them again the feelings can come back. Or you might refuse to speak to her ever again for having rejected you which can lead to further drama & gossip etc

Rejection is definitely better than regret. But regret is better than being kicked out of a place, having your membership revoked, or getting blacklisted, all of which are totally possible in this #MeToo world if you talk to a girl and she isn't feeling it. In the past, you always talked to a girl you liked, because the worst thing that could happen is she says no. Nowadays, the worst thing that could happen is you get asked to leave, get your membership revoked, or get ostracized from your social circle because she's not into you and reports you for "making her feel uncomfortable". There are real world consequences to approaching girls that never existed before, and the likelihood you'll get a positive result is lower than it's ever been. Tread lightly guys, the odds are not in your favor.

@@thenamelesshammer8633 Haha, why do you say that? Usually less attractive girls will talk to you because they can't believe a guy is approaching them. The more attractive ones are the ones more likely to complain, in my experience at least.

It was meant to illustrate how men get better with age and so experience more rejection initially. Women do not get more desirable with age and so experience more regret. It showed how things change over time.

Be honest, no point in lying to yourself. With me it's hard to accept that I need to go get my teeth fixed a bit better, and mostly I need to get out of this unemployed, depressed and uneducated state 😬 It's hard to admit, but as is, I can't support anyone really well, so I guess that's also holding me down in even trying to go out. It's a steep long climb, but I can see the path atleast 😅

Every-time I sub someone in BJJ (been doing it for 3 years so kinda decent at it now plus as a power-lifter with 15yrs of experience I normally have the strength advantage) internally I'm like lol you just got tapped by a 34yr old kissless virgin, u mad bro? :D although on the surface i'm quite chill and often give advice on beating me if they are really struggling because people at jiu jitsu are really nice to me (unlike women) lol oh yeah and it's particularly satisfying subbing people while their GFs are watching.. haha
