I think I've saw this trick before being performed by a guy called Lee Pearson (Spyro Gyra). He actually makes a pretty good solo and he uses some of this shenanigans to keep things interesting! Probably Larnell knows about him too, and that doesn't mean it makes it any less original and impressive. Just search for the guy on youtube, you'll probably like it!
