The majority voted for leaving the EU - our woke establishment did not want to leave so they have done everything to prevent it working. If you want to change things have the guts to stand up and start a public party and get yourself elected.

@@academyofrock Because 17,410,742 people explicitly voted to leave the EU, and only 9,708,716 people _maybe_ voted to rejoin, even though the number is most definitely smaller than that.

CFP, CAP, ECJ, ECB, SM, CU, High common external tariffs, Tax harmonisation, debt mutualisation, FoM, EU Budget approval, EU foreign Policy with no veto, Tobin tax, Euro, Schengen, EU Standing military. We've been through all this. We're not going to get entangled in that again.

By pre EU presumably you mean pre EEC, i.e. pre 1973? In 1967 the UK devalued the pound and even that did not solve the sick man of Europe's economic woes. I left the UK in 1970. EEC/EU membership improved things but it now looks like they are headed back to those "good old days" prior to EEC membership. Brexiteers have no need to worry but Rejoiners do because, for the foreseeable future the EU will do absolutely nothing to change the UK's 3rd country status. All the EU wants is that the UK fully complies with the current agreements, WA, NIP and TCA. BTW were you an adult in the UK prior to EEC membership?
