Well, I think you are right. That should be the standard assumption for every Bears fan every year. That is also why I hate some of the bears channels like BearsNow where they spam FGB (F... GB) in the comments. I love me a good rivalry and of course I "hate" the Pack and want to beat them every game, but we need a bit of humble pie, cause to the winner only go the bragging rights. And our wins are surely few and far between. So if we are the laughing stock of the NFL, that is not down to GB or anybody else.

Vrabel would be John Fox 2.0. Fox was hired to fix the culture. Bears were 14-34 under Fox. Eberflus was also hired to fix the culture. 14-32. Poles is 14-36 as GM.

@ First year NFL coaches with no experience typically struggle in their first and second years. I think Vrabel gives the Bears the best chance of having that one year turnaround like the Chargers have this year with Jim Harbaugh. In the end though it all depends on what Poles does in FA and the draft. He’s got to get better players for the o-line and d-line.

Vrabel? Yes. Bring him to Lake Forest on Friday. the head coach should be the leader of the whole team, regardless of their emphasis. Vrabel has a proven track record of that. Then, bring in best coordinators available, again preferably with a track record, and the best QB coach who has experience developing young QB's. Someone who can do for Caleb what the QB coach in Denver did for Bo Nix.

The real problems has been that the bears think they are smarter than everyone else. When Bruce Arians, Kevin O’Connell, Dan Quinn, etc were available, they chose to get first time head coaches Matt Nagy and Matt Eberflus with two different first time Gm’s Ryan Pace and Ryan Poles. Maybe the first time firing of a head coach during season leads to the first time the Bears fans can actually have hope for the franchise finally understanding that we as fans deserve a better product on the field. There are millions of us that would give more effort to this team for a far less salary than you are paying these jokesters.

I agree that is the appeal of Vrabel. After the thanksgiving game Belichick was talking about how he spent the bulk of NE practice time on situational processes. Code words to tell players what to do without wasting time. Vrabel is familiar with all of that and it is obvious our recent coaches were completely unprepared. Having said that I think NE may use having the worst record as an excuse to fire Mayo and bring in their guy Vrabel. You know he would rather take the job there than anywhere else. And they also have their QB in place and probably the #1 pick and also tons of cap space.

There are many of these defensive guys who have benefited from one super talented offensive player and their defense, but never get the chip. I'd shift gears and hire the Detroit Lions assistant GM first Ray Agnew Dave and then hire Ben Johnson. I think the Bears need an offensive minded HC and I no longer have any faith for Ryan Poles to make critical decisions as GM. I'd grade Ryan a B in the draft and a F in free agency and trades. Hence I don't think Vrabel is the right fit for what the Bears need as their HC
