Looks like fun. I have heard that non-pilots and plane owners are not welcome, specifically the General Public, is that true?

The general public is not invited but aviation enthusiasts and non aircraft owners are welcome. Drive in and park and go to the registration booth. On the form just tell them you are looking to start flying lessons, pay your fee, get your wrist band and enjoy the event. You will see people not wearing a wrist band and they usually are not registered and you can assume they are of the general public that happened to wander in. I have never seen anyone expelled from the event. I hope that helps.
