Yea I like logging all the data to see later and compare. Currently trying to get a good 8000mah battery test but trying to tweak the tune so it flies better with the extra weight

@@divingfalconfpv4602 Yea, I'm using a 5s 4000mAh pack made with Molicels currently, I recently came across this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHfQm4drl9SsgpI He's using a 6s 8000mAh pack made the same cells, comes in at about 860g, but he flew 32mins and 27km (16 miles), and still had battery left. Pretty neat.

Oh yeah I watch his videos. I did a flight with 6s2p 8000mah flew 39mins like 50s used about 7000mah landed at 3.2v but never posted. Meant to redo after tuning quad better but winter came so fast. I also want to try 6s4p 12000mah 😈 lol

@@divingfalconfpv4602 I’m expecting a few new Molicels in the mail this week and will be building two 6s 4000mAh packs to try the setup you mention above. I just saw the Molicel is releasing a new 21700 soon basically an improves P42a called the P45a. Improved in every aspect, including up’d to 4500mAh, but the weight seems identical. So be on the look out for those!

@Justice4gamers the 6s2p 6000mah 18650 are geprc. Sure others are all the same if vt6 cells. The 6s 21700 4000mah one is iflight and one is fpvcycle . I use parallel cable to make them 8000mah but that test isn't in this video. Will be in next.

@Justice4gamers depending how fast u fly and weights. I got over 15mins on the 6s 1800mah, gnb 6s 2200mah. The li-ion packs will get u over 30mph if ur flying 30mph or less We all noobs. I'm still learning.

Great video and good to see I'm not the only excel nerd ;) the 1300mah packs give you impressive flighttimes! on the heavier Chim7 I only get like 7mins with 1300mah - but conservative on the MAH usage and also quite cold here...

@@divingfalconfpv4602 ah - ok, so the temp really has an impact (even if you try to keep them warm before flight). dont overly discharge packs, that's not nice ;) My 1300mah packs (got a bunch of different brand ones) held up pretty nice now for almost 2 years. just because I treat them accordingly (did a test video a few weeks ago). inav and 8" sounds like fun. I think the larger longrange RTF qudas will all move towards inav for the better GPS functions. Not a big deal for me tho to have the "old" chimera7 - since it's a blast to fly it ;)

Yes only one version of Rekon7 (chimera has a chimera & chimera pro [7.5"] .. I have since modded the rekon7 video suppose to drop but my computer crash so have to do it over.

Not the OSD. No way with DJI or analog. I think OpenHD yes. I used transmitter Log to overlay data onto the video using racerender. I get DJI mbps from DJI SRT file. I use website to convert it to CSV file

You have to install jesc or bluejay or BLHeli_m firmware on the ESC. JESC cost money but Bluejay and BLheli_m are free. Turtorial titanfpv posted kzbin.info/www/bejne/iae2qaCohZuKY6s Nick Burns also did one.

DJI Onboard is 1080p always 40mbps. vs DJI DVR is 720p 30-40mbps file. (files ranged as low as 25mbps to a lot of 40mbps)

Depends on throttle percentage also these arent tuned at factory accurate they all use a default value. I used a clamp meter to tune my current as close as I could. (says in log my current scale was 430 & offset 500 but i have iNAV on the quad now so I cant look to verify logs show correct scales)

Yes I have 8" props on it now. I was suppose to post a video. I did a bunch of battery testing but I didnt finish it. Life got in the way. I still need to do more testing. Testing huge battery and different props. but Im running 6S. And motors havent been hot. And i have done full throttle pulls to feel motors. Been running 8" props for a long time now. Ill try to post a video.

Sounds a bit rough. Try lowering TPA_rate from default to like 0.55-0.40 to smooth the top throttle.

Yeah since top speed run and seeing all that. I have TPA at .50 breakpoint 1250. Also turned off dmin and raised pids. Been slowly tuning. But might lower TPA more haven't been able to get back out

@@SchuylerL I can get a video. Been messing with pids alot from extreme high p& d .. too even higher d. Going down to .30 tpa.. seems it did better with lower pids. So have to go test current pid set. Trying to get rid of any high throttle vibration

@@samurai90519 I got the rekon just cause I wanted to experiment with 8" props. Hglrc been great. They willing to go back and forth with tune to make it perfect. Other reviewers seem like they didn't have the problems I had. Though this doesn't show up in HD video. But now I have 8" props on it. And I am slowly tuning it again when i have free time.. Last flight seemed great at higher throttles just low throttle wobbles from low P and I I'm suppose to do video on 8" props but wanted it tuned first and just haven't had time. Between snow and hail and other stuff

While there are mountains in NY none like the ALPs atleast near me I can fly. they all small. Last time i flew a mountain with Hero9 it flew for think was 18 to 20mins. flying quickly & going up. Not on stock props was either 7035 bi blades or triblades. If i find a place ill test. but the rekon7 is no longer stock.

How on earth did you get 38 Mins out of that 6S2P .... I fly the same motors with also 6S2P VTC6 and just get around 28 min... how did you do that?

No gopro (alot of times i use onboard dji recording) & averaging 26mph. Slower speeds 25 to 30 give higher flight time but about same distance covered. Also using 7x3.5x3 props which increases flight time 2mins. I have since modded this drone for testing trying to increase flight time or distanced covered (i never made the video I really need to)

@@fanatic_joka what throttle percentage & speed are u averaging? My altitude above sea level are u flying? I data log everything. I mark when I have a hero9 on (28mins average) what props. Speed & throttle average, distance covered. So i can track what i was doing when i got those times. Like if I increase my average speed 10mph I lose like 8mins flight time. My data logs r on my Google drive (I lost everythong & had to do it again so lost some data. Make sure to log SDLog on transmitter & keep the data.

Yea I have polar on my 3". I swapped the rekon7 to nebula for using DJI onboard top quality. But my 3" fun quad is Polar. so I can get out at darker times and play

The time is accurate cause I verify video to log but the distance is estimated from gps average speed on log. . So depends on gps reading as accurate as they promise it does. It should be accurate with in a tenth of a mile. I repeat the test a lot and save data. So they seem to all be close .

The front antenna rotates to a vertical position it’s not meant to stay flat …. I switched my horizontal antenna to the front and put a bardpole on the back in a vertical position I get no issues with nulls at all I also upgraded my ESC to JESC firmware and enabled bi-directional d-shot it flys awesome I also switched to the 7x3.5x3 props you used 👍

I do put antenna vertical but landing is killing the antenna. On my rekon5 i ended up putting front antenna horizontally too.. right now my rekon7 has landing gear so antenna doesnt get ruined. I was using JESC rpm filtering. But I have iNAV in it right now. In process of tuning iNAV. Just seems if you tune for freestyle i get high throttle vibrations so im trying to find that sweet spot. HGLRC was willing to help with the tuning. UAVTech presets do not work. atleast not on mine.

I got this cause it is lighter & i wanted to test modding it a certain way (video hasnt been done yet) but chimera gives more room for bigger batteries. also new chimera pro has more power for running bigger batteries. I really want to try 6S3P on my modded Rekon but i need to do a custom pack & dont have the tools.

@@runpuppyfpv5744 Iflight can't convince me that it's not a freestyle frame wanting to do long range, Ifligh doesn't do light. 800 grams of battery means you can forget about freestyle and get a frame that's not nearly as crashable but one fifth the weight, to compensate for the battery weight, min-max, build a flying battery.
