REL Acoustics How To: Connect to McIntosh Quad-Balanced Amplifiers

We’re really pleased to be able to share this updated, simple, and foolproof way to achieve proper High-Level Connection of ground, in a way that is safe for any known amplifier genre.
Note: You connect your left and right main speakers to the same terminals as the REL high level connection. Simply twist together the red or yellow wire from the REL high level cable and the left or right speaker cable then connect both to the corresponding speaker terminal on your receiver or amp. If more convenient you can also attach the high level cable to the terminals on your main left and right speakers without any loss of signal quality.

Can the 1205 be used with airship to use the high level?

Should’ve at least gotten McIntosh monos for the demo. I’m not using the black wire at all going into my MC602 monos 🤷‍♂️. Your tech support told me not to use it.

Thank you for reaching out. In many cases, the black wire of the RELs' High Level cables can be left completely disconnected as long as you do not experience any hum from the subwoofer. If you do experience a ground hum, then the black wires should be attached to a chassis screw on the amplifier, or to a designated ground screw on the preamp if one is available.

Thank you for reaching out. When connecting High Level to your McIntosh MA6900, we recommend connecting the red wire of the High Level cable to the right channel 8 ohm positive speaker output terminal, yellow wire to left channel 8 ohm positive, and black wire to the amp's ground thumb screw.
