Neo gaze? Atmospheric acid? Labels be damned, just label this stuff EPIC. While so many bands get caught trying to be something, this band swoops right overtop with what was missing for so many: real feeling. Every time I watch this (which is often), I always imagine they're playing in a preserved serial killer's house from the early 20th century, heh. That line "Once you're bound, you're never leaving." adds to that headcanon. Edit: Hell, now that I think about it, the whole song sounds like it's from that perspective, arguably. I had never actually taken the time to look at all the lyrics.

God, this band is phenomenal. I first heard them a few years ago ("Corpse Master" was playing on a random video) and although I loved that song, I didn't really look into them further. Recently, I decided to listen to that song again and then came across the video of them playing "Flat Black." It's crazy how every song I find further down the rabbit hole is somehow even better than the last. This has to be my favorite song so far, and this video is perfect for it--pure art. "Minor it down" is a close second. I'm finally going to go through every album from start to finish, like I should have years ago.

I will be curious how they are perceived to that fest since most of the bands are much gloomier and doomier but no where near as good-their tunes are just so well constructed. They almost remind me of mid period Sonic Youth meets Head of David by capturing that better vibe in the late 80s to early 90s.
