It’s not always that simple especially if the person has a history with ANY kind of abuse (on the receiving end) ... there’s something called trauma bonding where victims of abuse bond with people who cause them trauma or disrespect and they do this because of their past relationships or childhood and how they were treated and if they went thr abuse affects their ability to be more okay with abuse then someone who hasn’t been thr it

My sister is an exact same relationship, with a narcissistic abuser. He has done everything wrong to her yet she is still with him. He hurts her sadistically in every level yet she loses sleep about thr things SHE must change. The victim always succumbs to the abusers distorted and egopathic perspective on the world and relationships and lack of morality and they end up adapting to the abuse and to the abuser's tastes and distastes. As a family we've done everything to get my sister out of this relationship yet because she's a legal adult there's only so much we can do and because she is so much gaslighted by him she now has replaced even bad memories of the abuse with lies and calls us delusional and psycho when we try to remind her what he did (and still does) to her. And every time she does it and says we were and are good me and my parents are in shock. I'm heartbroken that a person can be so much in denial and so deep in it... Especially when it's your own TWIN sister... I don't know what to do. I'm jn therapy with two autoimmune diseases and because I'm loosing all my hair due to alopecia and all these things were triggered into existence cause of her, her abuse and how he had made der suicidal for a whole year and at the shame time she is physically lashing on to us whenever he torments her and kicks her out of his place as a form of sadism and punishment when she "misbehaves" and of course cause of her denial of it. I'm in therapy when SHE should be in therapy and when she should get out of this misery. But she thinks the worst that she deserves is the best. So disheartening and exhausting. Narcissists kill you slowly and they first make you crazy. And all your environment and people that love you are directly affected by it as well. It's like they're serial killers without lifting a finger. These are anthropomorphic monsters are a literal danger to humanity and are literal cancer. So raise your girls (and boys) to never tolerate abuse and to always have boundaries, standards, self love and self respect. And practice that every day as parents. EVERY DAY.

I don’t think fame stunted his emotional growth. It might be a contributing factor, but it isn’t the main reason. He had an unstable home with an absence father and a mother who was just 17 when she had him. He was broken before, but the signs shows when he’s older. Many child actors like Zendaya, Cole Sprouse, they got famous at a really young age but they had an amazing foundation which is their family besides them, and they’re literally the most charming human beings I know. So I don’t think fame is the main reason.

I was thinking about Zendaya and the Sprouse twins, I think the environment you have as child contributes to how you turn out as an adult, at least to an extent. Zendaya seems to have a protective family around her and I think it kept her grounded. I don't know much about Justin but I think having fame at such a young age and coming from an unstable family makes it worse.

I've known people that come from very abusive and toxic familial environments and they were aware of their faults in their character and how they were a result of that environment and took accountability and are now amazing people and emotionally mature and empathetic individuals with good intentions and not sadistic tendancies, misogynistic views and toxic and abusive behaviour. Bieber is an adult and he knows right from wrong. He just doesn't care that he does wrong and is a piece of shxt cause he has a sense or untouchability and immunity. The environment is a big factor but it's still an excuse. Cause at the end of the day if your nature is to be a good person and if you WANT to be one, you WILL be. That loser is unapologetically toxic. Cause he wants to and cause it's in his nature. Plain and simple. I think Hailey knows she was a rebound or at the very least a relationship of convenience for him.. she clearly worships him, and he loves that, but doesn't see her as an equal and gets easily irritated by her affection and neediness. There's no challenge for him, he gets to act however he wants and she just tolerates it, I don't think he has a lot of respect for her. To me it seems that the biggest difference in his relationship with Selena was that he chased her and she had the upper hand in their relationship a lot. I think having that much power over Hailey and not being challenged is boring for him.

You can but people are different and have different personalities that not everything your partner likes youll like, in the end no matter what you can end up fighting no marriage can be truly perfect where you truly don’t fight about anything if that was the case then you’re lying to yourself. In the end what matters is how you approach conflict and how you handle conflict with your partner. There’s going to be fights it just all matters how two people can handle that conflict and how things are said. Because even when there’s fighting you can still say things with love,respect and wisdom. in my opinion this relationship has always been really toxic. as i’ve been in one myself, if i put myself in hailey’s shoes i would feel trapped and guilty if i wanted to break up with him. he’s always showing gratitude on interviews, all the love songs about her.. i feel like “oh he’s writing all these songs about me, he just gets mad sometimes but he loves me i promise!!” i get triggered every time i see them together. she’s not truly happy and you can see that from how she talks or looks at him. i’ve always loved justin’s music but i will always stand for Hailey.

It's a shaky relationship, a rushed marriage. Justin marries a fan and assumes that she will stay wise since she idolizes him. Hailey wanting to be in the limelight so even with therapy things won't work. We talk more about sex than love in their story. Now, the fact that he can't stand her constantly touching him is a feeling we all have. Sometimes we need to find ourselves in our bubble and not feel suffocated. Hailey needs to have her own moments of freedom in order to have the pleasure of being together, but she's so afraid to leave him alone that it will lead to a breakup in the long run.

This was Hailey’s number one goal in life since she was young. She worked for years and waited around for him while he was with every other girl. She will stand by Justin regardless how he treats her. She also knows how to turn on the charm in front of cameras. I’ve seen them ride in the car together not saying a word, and as soon as they are in public she smiles non stop and is constantly hugging and loving on Justin. Her mom has given her advice on how to date men like this. I don’t think either one will change much… they both know what they got into with this marriage and we should wish them the best. Celebrity relationships are a whole different animal… a lot of perks, and a whole mess of cons. You can’t diagnose it like you would a normal couple’s relationship. Unless you’re in that world, you’ll never truly understand.

I have been in a relationship like this . The problem is that when u are in there u cant really see it because u keep weighing the good things with the bad things . You choose the happy times over the fucked up times. You just dont see how fucked up the things are. You choose to ignore it and tell yourself if only i can make this work. But now years later after getting out of that place. When i finally saw how much i was in denial and was trying so hard i worked on healing and also i worked on myself too. I know breakups can be hard and make you feel bitter towards relationship but there is so much out there . I became more kind and understanding and understood where to put my energy and where to say no. So if anyone is going through this. If u are here and u realise what is going on then congrats u completed the first step of realising it. The hard part is to move out of it and and get help. Currently i am in a much healthier relationship where i get unconditional love and support. He is my childhood bestfriend and he showed me how much a relationship brings to the table. And we never had a big fight but we do work and talk if anything bothers us . Communication is the key.

But he started being inappropriate and soon I realised why did he wanted to be friends after the breakup. I tried to talk some sense but it didnt work. At last i just had to leave because being in touch with him was making my emotional state worse so i just blocked him and moved on.

She reminds me so much of how I was in my last relationship. He was an abusive narcissist and things started getting bad when he slapped my ass in public. It degenerated from there but I kept hoping I could explain to him how his behavior was hurting me. After two years, he cheated on me, and then I experienced some of the worst pain I've ever experienced. I loved the "nice side" of him and it was pure hell accepting that person had never been real. I allowed myself to be fooled and abused and dragged into a dynamic I should never have been in at my age. But I had just come out of a horrific divorce where my family and my ex ganged up on me and then shunned me (they still are) and I was in such a sad and desperate place when I met him that I just clung to him despite the red flags. Many things happened where I could have been badly hurt or killed. I think Justin is an abusive narcissist too. I really feel for Hailey. It's so hard to leave sometimes.

I was a fan of Justin VERY early on in his career, (Debut - Believe era) and as much as I loved him as a kid, looking back, I don't remember him ever being like this (publicly)until the DUI incident, and it seems like everything went downhill from there. I do remember that he has talked about a wife/kids since he was very young. From a psychological perspective, it seems like he is also trying to create a stable family (which he didn't get to experience), but doesn't have the tools to create one ATM. Hopefully with therapy and time, he'll be able to have a family. As for him and Hailey, it does seem like she has taken on a caretaker role in their marriage. I think the part of the videos of them that gets me the most is her face before he looks back at her, it's completely solemn/sober until he does, then it's a huge smile that seems to dissipate quickly. I think people are hyper-focused on their relationship because of 1) how public Justin's mistakes have been 2) his relationship with Selena. I think if him and Selena had never been that "it" couple, the speculation would be 75% less. I was a preteen when him and Selena first got together, and man did I LOVE them back then, and I looked at them as relationship role models since my parents had never been good role models to look to in terms of what is right/wrong in romantic relationships (which was terrible, and my first relationship felt like almost an exact parallel to them). Selena was not perfect, as she has explained briefly her part in the relationship, and from an outsider's perspective, it seems like relationship throughout the years was creating an environment of reactive abuse for her. We'll never know exactly what happened, but I do think Selena's music and words have spoken volumes about his character. This is just my perspective though!

I think the notion that in a relationship you should be focused on making the other person happy before you should come with great BIG WARNING! I know this probably works for people who grew up surrounded by fairly normal and healthy relationships that would work really well, but as someone who grew up in a codependent relationship with their parents and also witnessing their codependent relationship it‘s really important that you always cover your basic needs and communicate those to your partner. I have had relationships with people that were really great and wanted to give me the same love and affection i gave them, but i would never show them when i struggled or needed them because in my head my worth was defined by how much i could give them and how i could fix their problems for them so they could be happier. So in principle being focused on your partner‘s happiness is a great mindset, but you should also make sure to allow them to do the same.

As someone who grew up with trauma that causes rollercoasters of instability, I learned in trauma counselling classes that having this happen at an early age can set your brain up to expect uncertainty. It gears up for a constant fight-or-flight response and this carries on into adulthood. For me, if things were stable, I feel uneasy, like something isn't right. I believe all she ever wanted was to become his wife. She would have done everything to get him. I think she was blindly in love and hoped it would be better in the future. That's probably the reason why she agreed to marry him after few weeks of dating. They both must have known it will look odd to get married that quickly. He had never looked really in love with her before they got engaged and married. She was one of the many girls he dated. Not a special girlfriend. She became important to him when he decided he needed to be married and he knew she wouldn't reject him. I think it was way how to improve his image. He got married, he settled down... Anthony as much as I love your channel, I think you’re being naive. I think that Justin Bieber is a narcissist, and it’s not one of those things that you can really *see* unless you’ve experienced it. I think it takes a certain type of sensitivity to detect. The exact sensitivity that one who faces this sort of thing would have. The abuse is so nuanced that you almost don’t know it’s there(even for the person being abused). It leaves you feeling confused, and second guessing yourself. On top of that, you end up being gaslit by yourself, the abuser, *and* the world, who, like you, chalk things up to “a terrible sense of humor” or “being charged or hyped up after a performance.” You keep saying you’re working hard to remain unbiased but it’s more like you’re working hard to remain BLIND. Narcissists are indeed children(emotionally speaking) but that man is an *adult*. And if you need to know more Dr. Ramani has a wide array of resources on her youtube channel on the subject. Her body of work on narcissists may be able to help you to detect it better. I’d hate for you to actually get that interview with the Bieber’s and not know what to look for.

I really appreciate how you are unbiased with these type of videos and don't just jump on the bandwagon of hating on them. You see it from all different types of perspectives which is good. People act like they know so much about these celeb relationships just from a 20 second video.

Exactly, there are 365 days in a year in total we see not even a full day of their life and all of sudden ppl think they know them and can criticize their relationship. Majority o these ppl have never married and don't know what it's like to even be in a relationship w someone w so much baggage..... his baggage won't just go away. It seems ppl expect him to put his life on hold and to not be w the woman he loves because he has trauma no ..... I'm pretty sure they've both said they go to therapy. I'm sure he's been through things he hasn't even talked abt openly and that's ok.... Ppl need to realize we don't know celebrities, what goes on off camera and ppl need to stop assuming they know what goes on in ppl's life and assuming the worst..... I can guarantee a lot of the ppl who hate their relationship aren't perfect themselves and have done wrong in the friendships and relationships they've been in. Can u imagine how it would feel to have random ppl oh the internet tell u u abuse your wife who u love dearly.... marriage doesn't seem to mean anything to ppl anymore, it's like we all feel this uncontrollable need to input our opinions everywhere especially when absolutely no one asked for it.

I'm inrelationship for a year I can tell you that we never fight something really serious. Me and my boyfriend got into a fight when im so bored I just want to annoy him but he literally dont care if I shout or I over acting. he's like "oyeah baby is bored again" and Im so happy to have a person that matured enough to be focus on the things that will make our emotional mentally and physically health healthy. so yeah there's no perfect relationship yes but you make a relationship felt home.

On being an introvert and communicating to your partner: I used to tell my husband that I needed alone time, but that made him feel bad and like it was personal. Now, I say things like, "I need time to recharge," or "I need me time, and that me time is about me being alone with myself, not me getting away from you." I also get really overstimulated sometimes because of my ADHD and because I've learned to recognize it now, I can verbalize it and he knows it has nothing to do with him. Getting to know yourself is so important for your relationships.
