I’m 23 and I’ve never been in a relationship. I’m happily enjoying myself. Passing time alone is my happiness, people should learn to enjoy themselves and to learn more about you so you know what makes you happy and whatnot. Knowing you is more challenging and productive than losing time figuring out another person. I don't think romantic love is real or special, and I think romantic relationships are a bad thing. More than half of romantic relationships end in a breakup/divorce. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. Romance seems like an ugly thing. It does seem that nearly all fathers and brothers are hoping that their daughters and sisters never date or get married and remain single for their whole life. Romantic relationships seem like a bad thing since there is a lot of dangers when it comes to them. The overprotective father/brother thing is proof that romantic relationships are a bad thing, and this world would be a much better place without them. If someday that the human race ditches the concept of romance and romantic relationships, and got rid of stuff like dating and marriage, fathers and brothers would be happy about it since they wouldn't ever have to worry about their daughters and sisters ever dating if that ever happened.

This is so true. Teenagers in movies are always in a relationship and I've seen what that has caused in most teens in my country and probably everywhere. When I graduted from elementary school and went to a new school, I noticed that some of my classmates were already thinking of who to date. One even started dating one of our immediate seniors. We just left elementary school! Over the years I noticed that we started letting it get to us. Like, it was a necessity or a criteria that as a teenager you have to have been in a relationship. If you didn't then...well you really didn't enjoy your teenage years. And I won't lie, at a point I also thought the same way but I didn't date anyone. I just stuck to liking someone and being a "thing". Yh, I really fooled myself 😂. But I really feel like it's a problem because I've seen teens like me rushing into a relationship to feel special or stick to the status quo and end up losing focus of the important things. It might not seem like a problem to many but it does to me, especially when it ends in unwanted pregnancy 🙄

A friend of mine (he’s my teacher’s son, and my mom and the teacher are friends) has romantic feelings for me. I’m sixteen (junior), and he’s nineteen (college). I'm 26, most of the relationships I've been in were in high school. I definitely fell for this idea that I was supposed to be in a relationship at all times, so I pretty much spent my last 2 years of high school either dating or talking to some girl with the intention of dating her. Looking back, the girl I was in a relationship with for the longest CLEARLY did not want to be in a relationship at all, and only went for it after (I shit you not) 11 months of us talking and me basically badgering her every few months about it, until she finally gave in. It's not like she didn't try in the relationship, but she was definitely more interested in spending time with her friends than with me. Nowadays, I would never put in that much effort into getting a girl. After 2 months, if she's not overtly interested, I just move on. I have spent the majority of my adult life single. That same girl, we broke up 2 months before my 19th birthday. There was one girl I was seeing for a while, but I kind of killed it when, after a few months or so of us hanging out all the time, she asked if I loved her (while we were on a date) and I said no (because I was scared to be vulnerable). Literally if I had said yes to her that day, my life could be totally different. She instead started dating one of my friends, and they're engaged now. Lastly, my most recent relationship (which was 3 years ago) was with a coworker, who frankly was just using me as a rebound until her ex came back into the picture. Most of the relationships I've been in in my life have been pretty terrible tbh. I am so extremely picky with the women I pursue relationships with, just because I feel like most of the women I've been with were on some level embarrassed or uncomfortable with being in a relationship with me. Since I am 26, and seeing more and more of my friends getting married and starting families, I am increasingly becoming self conscious again about being single. I do deeply want a girlfriend. I just want to find someone who loves me for me, not someone who's just hanging around until something "better" comes along, or who feels uncomfortable having me around their friends and family. It's been so long since I've had a good healthy relationship, and I miss it so much.

Yes this is very true I dated someone for 2 years and I met him when I was in 7th grade. I fell head over heels for this guy but I had no standards back then and I was very desperate to have a boyfriend. When I was in 8th grade this guy asked me out officially and we dated for about 2 months until my parents found out and I had to cut it off. Little did I know I was in a toxic cycle and my parents saw how “miserable” I was so I got back together with him. I broke up with him for the final time in September of 2022 bc he asked for inappropriate pictures from my best friend and he did some other things behind my back. Hey I need some advice from some girls right now. So I’m thirteen and there are two boys who are interested in me at the moment. This is great because I’ve always wanted to have a boyfriend. The down side is I don’t know which guy to like back. The first guy is a boy that has known me for around two years now. All I would say is that the guy who you think is strong might be playing games or something like that and the guy who doesn't knows much might be keeping it straight and simple. All I would say is that one will lead you (u will follow him for sure) and the another one will stand next to you. The choice is yours. Don't forget people grow up/change/improve.

Im 12, 13 on the 29th. Last bf manipulated me and emotionally blackmailed me. One before that hit me when i left him and i left him because he would make me cry constantly and ignore my emotions. 1st one wasnt serious but was amazing it lasted 6years and he was so nice and my first love but then he started to ignore me and block me out so i did what was right and that was when i was 10. Now i am then again nearly 13 and see being used as the regular, being manipulated as well just a thing. If you get a gut feeling that its going the wrong way i mean yeah try fix it but i would recommend leaving if it happens again as it impacts you alot. I might have depression now, i for sure have bad trust issues, have severe social anxiety and am very socially akward, i might have BPD and i am scared to come out to my family as gender fluid and lesbian. I feel like yes the things i have gone through have hurt me alot but have made me mature quicker and become a stronger and more independent person. P.S be careful who you trust sugar and salt look tha same And never give up
