Even though GY has a long way to go, there is a huge improvement in his skin. The infection levels are greatly reduced, the inflammation looks far less and she is now able to draw out the core debris and the sacs from the cystic blemishes. GY you are a star!! Thuy, you are amazing.

@@d.m2746 I can tell by the top Thuy is wearing. Change of clothes means a subsequent session. Each session must be gruelling for both Thuy and GY. It seems to be paying off though! I know that when I was suffering from severe acne, I would have endured them too if it meant clearer skin. Bless him for sharing his journey with us.

Wow! What a huge difference GY!! You barely made a peep today, which is really impressive considering how painful those pockets are. Many of us have been where you are, and we know how much each pop hurts! It takes so much courage to go through this process and you are doing it. I pray for your healing and that each time you will suffer less pain and be stronger. This will get better and you have friends all around the world that care about you! You are never alone. When I suffered from cystic acne I didn’t even want to go outside or have anyone look at me. I felt so ashamed, and I wondered why it was happening to me. Sometimes our body’s hormone system gets into trouble, and it just feels so unfair. It’s not going to be like this forever. You are going to be ok and put this in the past. Gretchen, thank you for sharing your story. I had painful pimples but not one iota like GY or your own case. I do remember being embarrassed for others to see me. I'm in my 70s and knew nothing of skin care back then. I'm blessed it didn't progress to cystic acne and it finally cleared up.

@@NotMyNameGrandma-wz9yx Thank you! I used to try to squeeze them out myself but I wasn’t very successful and it just led to even more inflammation and pain. I didn’t understand that it was mostly too deep below the surface to ever reach. Eventually I was put on Accutane, which is still an extremely controversial drug because of the severe side effects one can have from taking it. I was willing to try anything at that point though, and within six months, I was finally free. I do remember being extremely pale and my lips were constantly peeling. It’s a very strong drug and I had to answer questions each week with my dermatologist because it can cause some people to become severely depressed or suicidal. I was fortunate because I didn’t have that negative side effect. I’m glad to hear that yours never got that bad. It just cripples a person’s self esteem so much. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with it. I know it’s not cancer, or heart disease, but it really hurts both physically and emotionally.

​@@ghm692 my acne was never anywhere near as bad as this,but l used to try to extract it too. If l had a deep,cystic spot l would heat up a sewing needle of my mother's and try to 'open' it before squeezing. It seldom worked, because l couldn't make a deep hole that was big enough. Most of the time l think it made things worse. It's why l get annoyed with people who say squeeze harder/ don't use the surgical scalpel. They haven't the faintest idea what they are talking about 😑. I'm glad Accutain worked for you, and really happy that this client is improving so much due to the care he is receiving from Thuy.❤ It must have been so... demoralising for him to have this condition 😔+ upsetting for his mother.

I think nurses have explained that to squeeze without piercing is more painful than pierce then squeeze. Think I even saw Dr PP explain that once, but she compared it to trying to squeeze ketchup from an unopened bottle.

His videos are always better quality because he seems to instinctively know where Thuy will move on the client's face. He anticipates her better.❤ He seems to be doing a really good job reassuring/distracting this client and the client's mother as well, so let's hope he videos all the sessions from now on.

Yes! This is why it’s so irritating when people gripe about “she’s not getting it all”… when it’s a deep plug, removing the top contents let’s the blood push the core to the surface, so when she goes back later, the core is often attached to the scab. She doesn’t push too hard on the super inflamed areas, instead she can go back once the inflammation has receded and get those deep suckers.

There’s a whole section, starting at around 6:57 & on for several minutes, that there seemed to be a game of Whack-A-Mole. Lol! She’s squeeze one spot & pustule would pop up next to it. It went on a few times. But that’s definitely not the only area that happened. Poor guy. But, he is looking better than when he first started. And it only gets better for him!

Thuy, ever versatile has changed to doing the 'wider skin squeeze' in the sore areas I noticed in this 3rd visit, which seems to relieve GY's pain more. It may take 1 to 2 more squeezes on the wider squeeze but she is getting those seed plugs and gunk/pus out.

Looking better! Remember, it takes as long as 90 days for blemishes to work their way to an extraction, so stay on the meds and dietary advice, avoid dirty air and water, and stay the course on treating active lesions. You can beat this!

That one is a really good demonstration of why Thuy squeezes some spots repeatedly. If the keratin/sebum 'plug' isn't out, the skin won't heal. Funny how pressure to only one side 'popped' it so neatly.❤❤

What amazes me is how some clients (like GY) have such an abundance of under- the-skin acne coming every day. Thuy will extract as much as she possibly can and yet there are still so many the next day.

A retinoid will do that, bring comedones to the surface. (I'm Not sure what he's on)

I hope he isn't on a retinoid like Curacne. It can only be prescribed by a doctor even in VN where so many things are OTC. He's so young, it could cause worse problems. In fact, I'm wondering, no proof, if a retinoid was given in Taiwan to cause worsening of the acne he had? Have a look at side effects, see what you think. There are a few which list this worsening as a side effect. But speculation on my part.

He’s still got a ways to go but there’s been some significant progress made. The big inflamed spots are not as bloody as they were, and the clumps are coming out. I found myself thinking, I hope there’s a way to get those clumps to stop forming. 😢 I guess they are a mixture or keratin and skin cells? They seem to be forming around hairs. I wonder if she can do some laser hair removal after she gets him cleared up to stop the hair from growing?

Those clumps are comedones: sebum/keratin/skin cells. Every hair follicle has a sebaceous gland that produces the sebum to lubricate the surface. So removing hairs won't change anything.

@@drevinatorslaw7356 Another thing a retinoid does is make the gland produce less sebum. On the 2nd visit, I think?, a translation said Thuy thought his skin was less oily. Other commenters thought they saw signs of hormone imbalance, like the dark vellus hairs on his nose. So could be lots going on here. As Thuy said it will take a combination of treatments. We'll see!

Unless he is seeing a doctor to have retinoids prescribed, Thuy can't give him them. They are not sold over the counter, prescription only even in VN.
