Calliope, I have a question for you. How do you deal with the rampant transphobia that is out in the world? It’s become so much easier and normalize for politicians to make laws that discriminate against us. I recently am visiting my family in the states, and it’s so just Oh disheartening and depressing knowing that most people don’t believe in my identity, believe that pronouns are “too difficult”, and want to kill people like me just because of how we live.

I live in an area that is deeply entrenched in hatred so I've made myself a very unpopular character by being against it (and most of my family, TBH, my parents were both extremely socially liberal), so luckily that part of my upbringing has helped when it comes to bigotry, but to honestly answer your question-as it is quite broad-is that I do what I can. Advocacy, education, donating to individuals & mutual funds when I can. For every awful bigoted thing I see, I try-sometimes unsuccessfully-to be better than that and be a person that doesn't contribute to the "this world is out to get me" statement. I have no control over the broad world, but I can control if someone feels safe around me or not and I try to be that person to the best of my ability.
