I have been experiencing a mild temperature Autumn as well in my area of the U. S.... I love Monty Don! My favorite gardener. Yes, I remember loving this the first time and even more now! At home I watch on a 75 in tv and when you go on walks, it's as if I'm walking with you! The house I go to when I'm away has a long gravel driveway and I love the sound it makes walking or driving on it! I too feed squirrels (and chipmunks) and I leave apples for deer to get them to come closer to the house. I find the sound of babbling brooks of any size so comforting. Loved the video. Billie is so cute continuing her kittens habit of drinking from the tap at 13. Autumn is my favourite season with the scents and muted colours. The walk through the park in Dublin was brilliant and so relaxing. Monty Don is also a favourite of mine and I am a tad envious that you have seen him live a few times. Dear Gillian, Wow, I absolutely loved todays video !! Everyone you do is great, but I especially love the nature walks and day visits to places. What a treat for you to have met Monty in the past as well and spent time with him. I'll have to see if my local library has any of his books. I enjoyed your visit. The Pic of Monty and Ned....so special, and what a bond! I was surprised to see Mr Gray squirrel on your screen.😊 I remember how you mentioned you had red ones. I have 3 in my yard. They fill up on the birdseed. They can be destructive. One got up under my son's 1996 corvette a few years ago and chewed wires😮 my son was not happy. They had food but ......maybe he was storing some and ate. Here in central PA, the days recently have been warmer than normally for November. We have had a beautiful autumn. We visited an alpaca farm yesterday and had a tour of the farm. They are comical. We fed them ... one piece of their food at a time... they chew with back teeth. We also bought winter socks made from their fleece. Some socks had the name of the alpaca whose fleece had been used to make the pair. My favorite Chinese meal is Mai fun....it's rice noodles with veggies and no meat. I usually get no scrambled eggs, too. They do make it with eggs as well. Won ton soup is another favorite 😋. Billie was so cute to watch....I had a cat who would climb into the bathtub and pick the faucet even though she had water to drink in her bowl. Thanks for filming and enjoy your evening. Phyllis ❤

I believe they have a protective status now too to help. Oh your Chinese meal sounds amazing, our choice is quite basic compared to it! ❤️

I live in British Columbia Canada ; gardening is an adventure full of surprises. Year before last there wasn't one lilac bloom on a 20 year old bush, as well as the mountain ash tree, no berries, this season, they were both covered with blooms and berries as in the precious years. Like you, we are heading into winter, so who knows what we'll get in Spring

What a gorgeous woodland walk! So sorry to hear about the devastating loss of your trees. My local council seems to hate trees and I end up in tears when I see abandoned saplings dying of thirst or beautiful mature trees chopped down to make way for temporary building site offices (yes, really). I planted some of my bulbs in pots in this my first year perennial garden and it was the best idea - I can put them where there is a hole or where that particular colour is needed! The white foxgloves have just about finished and were spectacular and I have the most wonderful pale violet purple delphinium just flowering! Sadly my astrantia are struggling so I've dug them up and put them in pots! My ginger Bubby loved the squirrels, I had to replay them about 3 times 🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣

Monty Don!!! Oh boy!!! I've watched everything I possibly can on either PBS or streaming. We had terrible luck with our garden this year and our beautiful trees really struggled. We were moving fans, misters and (very heavy) umbrellas all around like crazy people to give everything some relief. Finally started to get some tomatoes in September from plantings in March. Just too hot! Chinese...??? I love these little pastry deal-ios with crab in them!!! Perfect with Champagne! Spring Rolls. Pot Stickers! Yum❤😊

Absolutely beautiful! What an enchanting Woodland walk this was. One of the most magical places I have ever seen. There is such peace & tranquility there! Especially with the sound of the wind rustling through the Autumn leaves, accompanied by the delightful Birdsong. Such a soothing balm for the senses & for the soul. Your fluffy wee squirrel friends look so happy there too & who can blame them? LOL.They are so cute & quite chubby too. Obviously well fed & taken care of by a special someone. Lovely side trip to Dublin to hear Monty Don speak too. He really is quite the fellow! I'm sure he was very interesting & entertaining, as always. Finally, the Irish Chinese takeaway? Who knew? LOL. It looked scrumptious! Great thing about Chinese food. It tastes so yummy in any Country. No doubt about it! I love sweet & sour Chicken balls, chicken fried rice & egg rolls myself. Mmmm! Delicious! I love seeing the footage of Dublin, those beautiful city streets, the Dock and its adjacent buildings. I confess I am not overly fond of the grey squirrels as they have pushed the native reds to the brink of their old territory. Do you still have any reds in Ireland? They are so pretty with their tufty ears, and striking colour. Smaller, but sweeter 🙂 Thank you for another easy watching episode in your life 🙂

Yes, that's true. They have taken over a lot but are mostly concentrated on the east coast of Ireland and midlands. The red causes less destruction of the forests, and they are much smaller and easy-going. It's such a shame they're not dominant anymore.

Pues por desgracia yo he perdido por el mismo motivo un jazmín maravilloso que planté hace al menos veinte años y es que éste último mes las lluvias torrenciales no sólo han acabado con vidas humanas (la peor perdida) sino con muchas plantas que no están acostumbradas a esta cantidad de agua. Aunque a los olivares les ha venido el agua maravillosamente! Me he acordado al hablar del levantamiento de pascua de 1916, de la batalla entre españoles e irlandeses contra los ingleses en Kinsale!! Si hubiera ganado la coalición, tal vez Irlanda sería a día de hoy una sola nación! Respecto a nuestro amor por la naturaleza citaré unas palabras del gran Gustavo Adolfo Bequer: "Los espíritus de la naturaleza reconocen a un hermano en el inmortal espíritu que habita en mí"!
