After months away caring for a sick loved one, I returned to my home late last night. Waking this morning to the sun streaming in, birdsong, and the familiar tone of a windchime I've had for years jiggling outside my window was the most comforted I've felt in many weeks. My home holds, comforts, and uplifts me like no other place. I'm experiencing a post pandemic financial realignment which means this home my not be my forever home as I had planned when I purchased it just three years ago. Knowing this makes me cherish every morning I have here all the more. Whatever happens the sun will always stream in, the birds will always start their day and mine with a song, and the melody of this favorite chime will drift through the breeze reminding me that home begins within me.

What a beautiful place to walk. My exercise of choice is walking and mostly hiking. It takes me to places that I love to see. Don't like the gym, it doesn't take me anywhere. Hahaha! It is currently hot in Southern California, a cold smoothie or fresh orange juice is perfect for breakfast.

Used to go to the gym in my 20's then in my 40's walked 2 hrs a day now in my 50's I just walk 30 min a day it is so much more enjoyable I also might take a 10 min stroll after each meal that's the way people used to do it they used moderation and could actually enjoy the process rather than overdoing it and trying to maintain a routine that is really unmaintainable

I didn't think I was an exercise person. Until about 3-4 years ago. I started walking the trails/bridges near the local river in Virginia/USA. It is a very urban area and is public a hidden gem. I've lived here my entire life and didn't know all of what was down there until I started walking a half a mile down there occasionally a few times a week. Eventually worked my way up to about 8-9 miles on a regular basis. I found this initially to be more of a hobby (versus self care, etc.) until I stopped going. Then I realized how much it was impacting my mental, emotional wellbeing far beyond the physical changes. I'm still much more of a distance versus speed person. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you!

A walk in the woods with my dog, gentle daily Yoga, and now that it's summer, an hour outside gardening are how I exercise. I'm a night person though so I don't want to do much in the morning or have to talk with anyone, or rush. Too, when your body ages, it takes longer to warm up. In my part of the USA, we are about a month behind with growing food too - just the other day I put on thermal underwear! As for exercise, for years I have done my 5 Tibetan Rites, weight lifting for upper body, and jogged each morning before a breakfast of organic oatmeal with chia seeds, flax seeds, maple syrup or honey, and coconut beverage. I love the early morning since it's so peaceful and I can jog to the nearby park and meditate while the Sun comes up and visit with the birds & squirrels. Ironically (and fatiguingly!) I am definitely a morning girl...even now I get butterflies in my tummy when I wake up on the weekends, the morning sun peeking in my window extremely early, the smell of fresh coffee brewing and the excitement of seeing which of my berries are bursting to join my breakfast table ....I enjoy a freshly washed face, make up free, comfy lazy clothes, hair in a messy bun...bare feet on the warm kitchen floor boards as the sun streams in...enjoying my coffee on the deck, watching the ducks on the pond, the sun rising deliberately erasing the mornings dew...I love meditation as well, journaling, writing ....I find the mornings my best time for that...it's my mental exercise I suppose....I do however enjoy evening walks after dinner...when the shadows are longer and the sky's take on that reddish, orange glow...with promise of another glorious day ahead...watching the sail boats lazily drifting in after a day on the lake...then home, a glass of wine...watching fireflies and hoping to see a shooting star...always wishing for these moments to last longer....thank you for sharing your morning with us.

Hellou, thank you for the video it really has brought me some peace :) I just wanted to add something to the sleep thing: There are in general different types of people: those who go to bed early and wake up early (,,larks''), those who go to bed lately and wake up therefore late (,,owls'') and those in between. The Larks have some advantages in our society, whose circadian rythm fits better to the ''normal'' early working schedules - where in the contrary the owls have the disadvantage to go to bed or arise from it agaist their rythm. The circadian rythm even influences your concentration, so the larks have the advantage to show their full potential during their working time while the owls brain is still half asleep - when the owls full concentration shows up in the afternoon or early evening, it's often already time to go home - therefore it even happens that owls get worse jobs.. and on top they are even sometimes called lazy - or even irresponsible towards their bodies because of their sleeping behaviour. In reality it can even be unhealthy to be forced to ignore your inner rythm. On which time you feel the urge to go to bed also depends on your age and other aspects, but whether you're a owl, a lark or something in between always influences that. Therefore we shouldn't generally judge people who go to bed lately - they have simply another circadian rythm. There are even theories about WHY there are different types of ''sleepers''..One that at least made sense to me is this one: Long, long time ago sleeping wasn't at all as safe as nowadays(well in some places still isn't but let me continue), there were dangers that needed to be recognized early enough - otherwise it would have been critical to survive (after starting to sleep on the floor, it was a huge help to ''own'' fire but still there were risks). Back to my point: If people would have had the same sleep-rythm they would have been unprotected for 8 hours. If some of them got to ''bed'' 2 hours later (owls) and some wake up 2 hours earlier (larks), there are only 4 hours that are critical - and therefore higher chances to survive. It's logical right? All those infomation is just me trying to remember the facts from the book ,,Why we sleep'' from Prof.Dr.med. Matthew Walker (huge recommendation for everyone who is interested in sleep in general, it's reallly an incredibly fascinating topic) - so if anyone knows better, please, please, please correct me (and my English too) Besides the information above, I think listening to your body is almost always the healthiest thing you can do - whether this is going to bed early or late. To all the owls: it's probably a huge struggle between wanting to go to bed to your preferred time, trying to get your important 8 hours of sleep AND be forced to follow societys rules and on top even be judged and called lazy - hope things will change somewhen in the future so everyone can show their full pontential and live their healthiest life. Thanks a lot for reading please correct me if there's anything wrong Love, light, peace & blessings Sophia

Beautiful and comfortable video, as always. On the topic of exercise, which I personally love. I wasn't too inclined to it as an adolescent, but have developed a healthy desire for it throughout my 20s. I love cycling both outdoors and indoors. I was getting to spin classes regularly before the pandemic, and since then my partner and I have actually invested in a spin bike and a subscription to a service which provides spin classes for us. That is more expensive however, and if we didn't have the spin bike I would be cycling outdoors, going for long walks, doing some shorter strength workouts at home (I love these and I find the pass by quite easily), and the always constant in my life yoga. Sending love from Vancouver Island, Canada

FC you have the beautiful Cty. Wicklow. I have the beautiful mountains and coastline of Maine. Deep woods and waters, with all the living things inside them, are something everyone should have access to enjoy. Good living.

We really look forward to your videos every week - you and my beloved sweetheart seem like kindred spirits, including your weekend pancake tradition! I just wanted to suggest you get a new frying pan. I recall hearing that once the non-stick coating begins to show signs of wear (scratching, flaking, etc) it's time to get rid of the pan, as the coating can be quite toxic. I'm not sure if that applies in your case, but I thought it best to send a note. Hope you receive it.

Care to talk more about your meditation practice? I try guided meditations, but my mind is always drifting off. I am curious about mantra meditation and how it has helped you.

I used to go to the gym before work and take a walk during lunchtime but with covid, I’m working from home and I take walks at lunchtime with my dog (30 min) and a big walk at the end of the day with my dog again (1h) it helps to separate the office time and the rest time ! But I’m waiting for the pools to open again to diversify 😅

I also prefer walking as my exercise. We definitely do pancakes on weekends as well!

Ooof… those pancakes 🥞… they look hearty and delectable. What a tasty breakfast creation, and so much better when eaten outside. This was a fun and relaxing video. Thanks Niamh, and have a great week ahead .

A morning walk is a good idea. I think I will suggest that to my husband as the days are longer. My eating kick lately has been when I discovered vegan cinnamon buns - so really need to get walking ha ha. My favourite form of exercise is yoga.

I like bike riding on a nature trail and seeing flora and fauna helps energize me as much as the riding does.

I've been really bad with not doing exercise for the past few months! Usually we'd go out for a long walk on a Saturday or Sunday. But the effects of sitting in front of a computer for long periods is really showing. So I've started jumping rope/skipping to get me more active during the week.

Listening to birds in the morning is a wonderful joy. I am reminded of the song “Morning Has Broken”. Thank you for a lovely video.

Still waiting for you to do a video on the unusual items in your house such as the tin candle on the coffee table in your lounge. The heart coasters & other items of that nature. They are interesting!

Now that I have had my vaccine, I went back to swimming and have been going most days. I love being in water the light, the movement, the feeling of weightlessness. I have been feeling so much better and started to incorporate a short walk around the fields when I get to work. this has helped me to destress.

I can relate to the challenge of getting exercise in... I know I need it and feel better after, but taking the first step takes a bit of effort. I find when I am anxious/ stressed I thrive on jogging, or other heart raising activities. When I’m angry I like to punch a bag or lift some weight, and when I’m sad I often feel like not moving at all but may do a little yoga or a walk to get the blood flowing.
