@Summerof-gi5mq9 ай бұрын
You probably remember the old glamorous times: Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Gene Thierney.... And now you look around you and see: Megan Three Stallion, Madonna and her creepy daughter Lourdes... People don’t write long love letters any more, just a quick “Hi! LOL!” on their cellulars. Mom told me that in the old days “going on a date” meant: meeting the boy near the metro and go for a walk in the Park... and talk about school and projects. And that’s it! From innocent movies like “A Patch of Blue” to “them” Sam Smith dancing in red woman’s underwear at the Grammys. At least you remember the good old times...

The Evolution of Music through the 1900s alone is just phenomenal. Even though Art Deco has lost its popularity, before the Mid-Century era began, its impact has forever left its mark on the skyscraper scene and the Music and *Art* scene. There's just something about that era that's....Timeless to me. I'm glad that people are recognizing how amazing that era truly was, and the return of Art Deco just makes it even more reminiscent. Then in the late 60’s everything changed...! (The hippies era). Books like “How to talk about sex to your children” appeared. Sexual revolution full speed.. ! Then it kind of “calmed down”, I remember the 80’s as the best time ever. Internet did not exist and who cares! We sent faxes! After year 2000 things began to change... I just turned 20 (literally yesterday turned 20) and this music has been around me my whole life. It’s my favorite kind of music 40’s-50’s especially but any music from the 20’s-50’s. It’s so fun and classy. The musicians were all so talented. I’m not saying that people today aren’t but it is a lot easier with auto tune and what not. These people all had real singing, real live instruments being played. It makes it feel so much more…More. These people worked hard to create some of the best music of all time. And even after all of these years it’s still so good and still holds up.

This music never gets old...I am just 65, but my Dad was/is a jazz musician vocalist, and this was his up and coming time. We were so fortunate to have been exposed to all this music...Dancing the jitterbug with our aunts...Always a good time with music in our house!!

I want you to know you have made it this far, despite all your falllbacks, you are here, you are alive, it won't always be this difficult and you are more powerful than you realise. My mom was a jitter bug back in the day My pops listened to this music up until his leaving this world. He suffered from Alzheimers I would play his big band cassettes and he would remember the names of the bands and the singers! Amazing how music helps the brain. Love this music and the dances that went to it.❤❤

Same thing with my mother, she also loved to dance and sing to 1940s & 50's music. The last few years of her life she couldn't remember me or my name but when I played her old records on the cheap record player in her room she would light up and sing along to all the songs word for word!

Personally, I don't feel any era of music is inherently superior or inferior to any other, and to claim otherwise isn't exactly kind to the many people out there today who are genuinely passionate about making music. Every generation will have people boiling down all the music of the current day to the parts they don't like, while at the same time forgetting or just not knowing about the old music that wasn't good and memorable enough to stand the test of time. I'll happily listen to this playlist, and then I'll turn right around and just as happily listen to songs that came out less than a year ago.
