100% right about the stove. I had to knock out my chimney to fit a larger wood heater in it. I’m glad I went for the bigger option, because it does the whole house and if you load it up enough, it can burn for like 12 hours. And a nice big glass door so I can see it.

This is great. Thanks for the video. Looks like you've got an issue with the tub. Propane is heavier than air but lighter than water. So if there were even a tiny gas leak you'd have a layer of gas pile up underneath the round door but above the water or tub's bottom. There needs to be a way to vent that off if the line is connected to the tank outside. And if someone were to bring a candle into the tub that could be a problem. Since it's possible for a trough-tub to overflow, putting a horizontal vent to the outside somewhere near the top of the tub (but below the door level) might be an answer.

If he gets rid of the bathroom sink (use the kitchen sink--no big deal), maybe get a compost toilet and move the toilet turned to sit length wise with back against the under-stairs closet and enclose it there, he could preserve the bathtub door's aesthetics and not ruin the line of view with a wall across the room. The Hobbit door is the main focal piece. Great job!
@AL-vw7kx2 жыл бұрын
I like that.. it is amazing... I like the Hobbit doors as well... in fact... i like the way how it looked too as if it was like the focal view point .. I would put like 2 barn doors slides 1 left and 1 right... so when it's opened you can still see the Hobbit doors..and the barn doors red oak wood as if it's the frame when you're looking at it.

I LOVE this tiny house, but where will you keep your clothes, towels and toiletries? Also you need a place to temporarily put your trash. But this is one of the most beautiful and serene tiny homes I have ever seen. Big Kudos!

Awesome house. Love all your round doors. Just a suggestion, the under the stair closet door could change it to be an arched framed door, to keep it in your Hobbit theme.

Love this! Incredible attention to detail, such as the closet door built into the stairs I mean the foresight to make sure that the door was recessed was brilliant. I don't think I would have thought of that myself. Also love the fact that the first step is open so that he can access whatever he wants to store there and really especially loved the sheet metal behind the stove, the fact that he left a nice air gap behind the sheet metal really impressed me as well. Oh and of course don't even get me started on the gorgeous wood. And yep I'm a purist I like the wood being natural also. So many awesome features, The Hobbit door really impressed.

Beautiful home. The only problem I have with it is the tankless water heater inside the shower. That may not be a problem at first but the humidity from the shower will evidently rust it.

Many charms - the gorgeous kitchen cabinet, pretty stove & installation, staircase and loft. Looking forward to see how the bath gets finished. Also - while stock tanks have a rustic appeal they kind of creep me out because I wonder how it is to clean them. All those ridges. Plus, by the time they fill is the water still hot?
@priestesslucy32992 жыл бұрын
It's an on demand water heater, it may burn a lot of propane, but you crank that thing on max and let it run and the water will still be hot by the time it's full (just less hot than the exit temp.) You can also insulate them, though if this one is insulated it's only insulated from below.

Very nice house like the metal behind the stove arty. Stoves are not as efficient as the should be especially when closed down. The solution is thermal mass storage. This is too heavy to haul around the solution is water as the storage medium. Dump it before you travel.
@priestesslucy32992 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the rig you're building for. I'm currently planning a ~12 foot double axle tiny house with an RMH multi-purpose floor over the axles. I'm estimating 3-4 thousand pounds of Stratification Chamber mass as a multipurpose living space, with a tiny mudroom/fuel storage at the entrance and a kitchen on the other end of the mass.
@DavidPaulNewtonScott2 жыл бұрын
@@priestesslucy3299 consider cork board insulation structural stiffness an interesting surface and good sound and thermal insulation.

That is beautiful but I couldn't buy it because I am 67 and with my hips I can't get in and out of the bathtub....you have to think of older people buying one and thats mostly who wants to like me ...Only the stairs have to not be so high a step ...because of bad knees and a stand up loft beside the bed or even make them longer and have a sleeping area down stairs and still a loft for when the grandkids visit ....

The windows looks too small to exit during a fire. Especially in the sleeping loft.
@ZeoCyberG3 жыл бұрын
Maybe but there's different types of egress windows, some open separately from the sliding window part. Basically, the whole window frame can open like a door on some... Or it's the type that can be ejected to leave the opening clear and you just need a new window to reset... Or the egress is something else like a hatch or operable skylight... The window itself doesn't always have to be able to open big enough for egress during normal everyday use...
