Really lovely and affordable. It lacks nothing. Love the bathtub! So many tiny houses now are super expensive which I think is counterintuitive. If you’re spending a fortune you might as well buy a house with land. This looks way more expensive than 35K. The beautiful deck adds more living space. It’s very comfortable. Brilliant!

Exactly, I am not at all interested in a tiny house that costs as much or more than a home on land....people should really think first before paying that much. I'm a RE Appraiser and with no land...the value goes down rapidly like a vehicle...its a depreciating asset. In additon, very hard to find a place to park it permenantly

This is without a doubt, one of the best tiny house builds on youtube... and I've dozens and dozens of them from the super popular to up-and-coming channels. It's kinda my Netflix :) I took notes... I think the price is a typo though (: ...Details were refined to function well. I've never seen a foot petal for water nor an office with a real life window under the stairs before :D Not to mention a sunken tub and a bed that you can actually stand in! Pure GENIUS!!! I really like everything about their design. I'd need a W/D (hate laundromats) but seems that is a possibility. I really like the murphy bed, very perfect design with places for clothing, books and a lamp. From what I've seen elsewhere, I cannot abide a bed that takes up the entire space with no place for a nightstand type thing. I mean where are you supposed to set a book, a lamp, a glass of wine a phone and some condoms? Let's be real. 😉

I love the drip tray above the sink, that's one of my favorite features of their tiny. The simple stairs with a desk/computer under it is a great touch! I like their kitchen table and the purpose behind it, but I'd round the corners so it can't stab me while walking past I'm not a huge fan of murphy beds, but their made me like them a bit more, considering how quickly and easily they adjust it. I really like the idea of a loft as a hang out space, not a main place you'd need to use every day. Great tiny for only $35,000!

Our biggest project was a camper van conversion. Although we had been married for ten years it certainly put our relationship under a lot of challenges. Ian was the builder and I was the suggestioner. We eventually got there, even though there are still changes happening to the van, but the relationship strengthened in the knowledge that we did it together. Ok, I suggested more than I did, but he is a wonderful wise man who learned that a happy wife was certainly a good life.🤣
@IExpectedBSJustNotThisMuchBS3 жыл бұрын
You should be proud of it; it's one of the best thought out tiny homes I've ever seen. Love the design. I think I'd want a slightly longer home (2 feet) to accomodate a sofa (in three pieces that slide out of the way on casters - flip down brakes - leaving two seat on both sides - I'd make those drawer end tables a bit more deep so they could act as end tables when in couch mode - or a single piece in the middle the size of the bed width) and fold down table (an art piece) in front on the murphy bed. (A loveseat on casters would fit with the current design. When putting the bed down, you could shove it in front of the doorway as you'd still have egress through the back door.) That way there'd still be floor space but also additional working space. But more because I'm disabled and so getting up and down from the floor would be a challenge (and they'd also provide more storage. Love the desk under the stairs as well. Your kitchen is so well thought out and combined with the storage around the bed and outdoor storage means you've probably got a lot of the storage you need.
@RockinCowgirl10003 жыл бұрын
I thought of some of your suggestions too. I thought the end tables should've been the size of the whole drawer. I would've went with a fold up couch or chairs because I have some knee arthritis and getting up off the floor is not fun. But they seem to be in pretty good shape, probably doesn't bother them, haha! Also, she made a big deal about how they don't use much electricity, but then you see the stove is propane and heat is wood. Think it would've been easier to just hook it up to electric, unless it's real expensive where they live, there's a lot of outages or they don't want to be dependent on the grid. Could solve that with a solar panel on the roof.
@NilZed13 жыл бұрын
I would have upholstered the bottom of the bed and placed a large ottoman in front to create a more comfortable fake sofa when the bed is closed. The depth of the ottoman and height of the upholstered section designed so that you slide the ottoman forward to sit under the foot of the bed at night. It wouldn't be supporting the bed, but a snug fit. I also think that I would have designed a cubby and a bit of a slide out surface in the side cabinets to serve as a side table/night stand.

I think if you build yourself, your blood, sweat and tears are in the build giving off good energy. I'm hopeful of the future for the new generation who are moving away from the system to live more intentionally. I like this couple. Imagine, two people who are actually willing to work at a relationship. Congrats to them for finding each other. And congrats for the wonderful home they built for themselves. Lots of great ideas! One suggestion that I would try...I would make the murphy bed a half-murphy bed. I would make it so that the bottom half folds up and over the top half, forming a couch. That way, they would still have floor space, a place to sit, a hidden bed, and access to the shelf space behind. Just an idea. Anyway, love the house. Hope they continue to enjoy it together.

Something to be proud of, while providing a more independent space that belongs to you.That has to be liberating! Wow! One of the most beautiful living spaces. Such intelligent and artistic design. With a BATHtub!!! And I LOVE that they built it, demonstrating that even I (with capable help) can build my OWN tiny home. I'm ON it! Thanks!

A nice long enjoyable video you have here. So much aesthetic, clever solutions. The price is about as good as it could get for doing your own labor. It's just so different. Thanks.

They are so likable! You just want to be friends with them. Great home, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the setup so that it’s perfect for their needs. It’s a lovely home.

Such a smart design. Thanks for sharing lots of great ideas (e.g., the drying rack over the sink, ~ sunken corner tub with surrounding shower curtain, desk built into the stairs going up to the loft, fold-up stair for a place to sit). What a great job by you two.

What a lovely couple. They seem very happy in their little home. Not for me but as long as their happy then that's the main thing. Best wishes for now and the future.

The best designed tiny house I’ve seen. Love! I thought I’d hate the Murphy bed, but it looks comfy and has so much storage… it’s great. Thx!!!

Beautiful home. The two of you put a lot of thought into the design using all available space. Love the murphy bed and the outside space is so comfortable looking. Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing.

Best ever - it’s obvious this build was designed and customized by a graphic designer! Beautiful yet practical features throughout…Sarah- is the wall hanging behind your bathtub one of your sewing projects and are those rocks worked into the design? Such an interesting piece- love that you were able to “build in” precious works of art! Thank you for sharing- this one goes to the top of my list

“We didn’t prioritize having a big bathroom” had to laugh at that, I think this is one of the best, but also one of the largest, bathrooms I’ve seen in a tiny house!
