I think a relay can appear to be working but not be able to carry the proper amperage. Does this tool make sure the relay can carry the intended load?

MBS No, it does not apply a load, at least not that I'm aware of. A test light/bulb at end of circuit should reveal that. This is just another tool in arsenal to help with diagnostics.

I like it alot, it is great for quick and easy relay checks, but like any tool it has its limitations. Some of the adapters are for different relay pin combinations and the rest of the adapters are extensions so that oversized relays that might not be able to be plugged directly into tool can be tested.

Is there a quick, reliable way to decide which posts are the control and which attach the load? For example in your demo the control posts were at right angles to a line between the two, is that a consistent feature? Given the fuse buddy can have only a few options, it looks like they mostly have a common design....

did you try one of the adaptors in the kit for the green relay that fooled the tool? btw this unit does "load the circuit"

The other adapters were not for this application. I do not believe it loads the circuit.

nice to have this over priced tool kit. The off vehicle relay tester is kind useless because if you question a relay you can always just swap a relay from the same fuse box. the real relay tester or in circuit tester is so called onboard relay tester with pin break outs which let you test the power ground on coil side also you are able to jump on the switching side to trigger it manually.

@@jayasanka5978 always check fuse first if you suspect a bad relay, just swap it from same fuse box, like ur fuel pump not working, but u know ur high beam is working well, so swap those two relays if they are the same type, if u find out high beam stops working and fuel pump is working then u know u have a bad original relay, if high beam is working and fuel pump still not then is not fuel pump relay issue, could be a fuse or bad component cobtrolled by relay, or sth else those relay adapters from the kit are kind of risky, if you select ur meter to measure current and accidently feed power or ground to the relay coil side which alway comes from the ecu, u could end up burning the ecu and u have a bad day. so stay away the tester, not worth the risk because merphys law alway applies when working around cars, trust me,lol
