The release burndown chart is essential for a team to see progress during each sprint. Learn about the sprint burndown chart here.
What is a release burndown chart?
A release burndown chart provides an overview of the release progress by plotting the remaining workload (often referred to as the remaining effort in Scrum) at the end of every sprint against the ideal workload (or effort). The sprints are plotted on the x-axis, and the remaining action is on the y-axis.
What is the difference between the sprint burndown chart and the release burndown chart?
The difference between them lies in the time range and ownership. A Sprint Burndown chart is used by the Development team within one Sprint to monitor work progress, while a Product Burndown chart is used by the Product Owner for product management purposes.
What are two types of burndown charts?
There are two types of burndown charts: Agile burndown charts and sprint burndown charts. An Agile burndown chart is used by Agile teams to enable tasks to move quickly. A sprint burndown chart is used by development teams when working in short sprints.
What is the purpose of a burndown chart in Agile?
A burndown chart is a tool used by Agile teams to gather information about work completed on a project and work to be done in a given time period. Often, teams can use their burndown chart as a prediction tool that allows them to visualize when their project will be completed.
