One of the best things in all of music is seeing the face of someone reacting to this the first time. Love it. Thanks!

Every time I see someone do this one for the first time it’s always entertaining! This song is actually much slower and longer but they were told to shorten it so instead of cutting music off it they played it double fast.
@notgivennotgiven77762 жыл бұрын
Ah dude, this would come on the radio when we'd be riding around and it would be cranked up. The original isn't this fast, but it's twice as long. It was their only radio hit. They were a progressive band, and amazing. Yeah. Peace

good reaction. Love watching people see this for the first time. It's always wtf, then they love it.

Love your reaction to Focus. All their songs aren’t non lyrics like this one. But, this particular non lyric song, hocus pocus was a huge hit. This is in the rock categories of “experimental “ rock. Back in the 70s experimental and progressive rock was very common.

Midnight Special "I know your song's 8 minutes long, but you only get 5 so either cut something or just play 30% faster." Focus: "Hold our cocaine." "Wait, this bag is empty." "YEP!"

This song is usually more slow down. It runs between 7 1/2 - 8 minutes, but when they did they show the midnight special there was a time constraint and they refused to cut anything out of the song so they sped it up a lot to turn an almost 8 minutes song into 4 1/2-5 minutes song.

This wasn't originally on VH1. VH1 was simply rebroadcasting old footage. Cable channels like VH1, MTV etc. didn't exist in the early 70'e.

Not sure what "genre" your regular reaction videos would fall under, but I would suggest staying away from music videos. You apparently don't know talent when you see it. You might have only seen this as insanity, but what it was in realty was an insanely talented vocalist and musician, backed by an equally insanely talented band. They took a nearly 7 minute long hit, and played it in double-time to fit the time slot on the show. The result was an absolute frenetic shred, a gut-punch of hard rock and roll that could literally leave you breathless.
