This is a fantastic showcase! I can attest that LoreRim 2.0 has become my absolute favorite Wabbajack list. It has the best, most consistent visuals. It also offers fantastic roleplaying opportunities as well as finely tuned combat. There is so much attention to detail - I am constantly finding wonderful new additions to the world. It stays true to Skyrim's strengths and atmosphere while improving many aspects that were lacking in the original game.

I think LoreRim is everything I always wanted Skyrim to be - the reason I spent probably around 1000 hours modding, yet never really "got there", because there was always something missing. I took a break from modding Skyrim years ago, before Wabbajack and these huge modlists became a thing. I'm thinking about going back to Skyrim, I still have my Mod Organizer instance, but there's absolutely no way my own personal list could ever stay in the same line as something like that. Especially in terms of balancing the game and patching mods to go together. Not to mention the amount of time I would have to spend to update everything and figure out the conflicts. I think it's time to retire my own modlist, just download the LoreRim and maybe, just maybe, finally get to play the game by accepting that I am embracing someone else's curated modlist. Thanks for this video - it's a beautiful showcase and your editing skills are amazing.

this is still a very demanding list when it comes to specs, there's options within the MO2 for performance options. Keep in mind this is a very difficult start , Reqiuem changes the game siginifcantly and if you're not willing to relearn a 13 year old game, you will struggle.

For example. If you wear heavy armor, you need a perk in the skill tree or you simple won't have any stamina. regeneration of stamina , health , mana all work differently. your race. Birthstone and first 3 perk points are essential to the type of character you want to play. Vanilla and power fantasy modlists like Nolvus don't really feel that weighted in decision making. Don't get me wrong I highly recommend the modlist, just expect to have a learning curve.

Absolutely can't wait to get into this list! Tried Empyrean, Living Skyrim 2, 3 & 4 (my favourite so far), and Elysium. But this, this looks to be the best, mainly cause I find most quest mods just don't fit smoothly into the basegame. I will say though, actual 2-handed swords such as claymores, don't weigh much (about 4-5.5 pounds/1.8-2.5kg) and are somewhat agile weapons when wielded properly. That being said, I sort of understand making them slower from a balance perspective.

@@RelentlessZen Oh yeah totally. I think I just find the wieldy, highly choreographed, sweeping swings to be unrealistic. But I'm also not a snob for these things and realise it's necassary in a game where you don't want the player to feel like they've been cheated cause a bandit struck you 4 times in a second, all in the name of "realism". It's a fantasy game afterall. But got started on the mod list and I'm loving it.
@RelentlessZen
@RelentlessZen 5 ай бұрын
@@Undead115Phoenix Haha yeah I'm in a similar mindset, comparitively to other modlists the animations here are very grounded, of course things are going to look "choreographed" its a moveset. like any video game would have. I think some people might have mistaken my choic of word as "weighty" to mean slow when I actually meant "not as floaty" meaning it actually feels like you're swinging a sword and not something made out of paper.

@@RelentlessZen Honestly, the Precision mod coupled with a strong combat mod is a godsend. Whether you like more fantasy-esque combat or more realistic combat, you can feel the impact of your strikes. Very few games manage to do that on this level. @Duranous.
@Duranous. 5 ай бұрын
The first person weapon swinging animations remind me of vermintide, which is a good thing. I always found those more appealing then the simple back and forth animation of most Skyrim weapons. I've played a lot of Requiem and while I've had a lot of fun, there are certainly a lot of annoyances like segments that gate your progression and encourage you gain enough power that you break the game. Not that I don't want challenging level gated areas and a need to prepare but the random random difficulty spikes and certain cheesy mechanics make it so that the sweet spot only occurs after level 20 in before level 40. Things come to mind like arrows in the early game being super accurate instakills or certain enemies like ebony vampires, dragon priests, enchanted spheres, or invisible entities being nigh unkillable without specific builds especially without the ability to disable some of the silly health regen many of them have. Conversely game magic schools culminate in game breaking spells that instead of being epic trivialize and make boring many encounters.

For example: if you wear heavy armor without a perk in the skill tree, your stamina will drain rapidly. don't expect to do Bleak falls barrow until around level 10 / 15. be patient when booting from LoreRims Mod otganizer 2 and don't click unlock after you Run it.

@@RelentlessZen I've put in about 40 hours since this comment, and you helped me a ton! I'm level 18 2h/heavy armor warrior. Knowing to spend my perks in the beginning really helped me out. I’m coming back to this video after having played Lorerim extensively for the past few months. Magic is *dope*. I am playing a full in wizard rn and it’s going great. Once I got past the early game of being the good one hit wonder/flying corpse whenever an enemy actually hit me you suddenly find that magic is insanely fun to wield. I want to start shifting from full mage to then go into a battle mage style and start enchanting and smithing some sick armors but not yet. For those who want some insight, I provide the following meta information. Some spells are wayyyyyy more powerful than others and some spells are useless *until* you have the skill to use them then they become a main stay. For example. Magika Bolt is a seemingly innocuous one, meager damage, kinda costly, but if it hits you get some magika back. Sounds lame right? Wrong. If you like slinging fireballs or chuck shards of ice like a baseball pitcher then this will be amazing for you. Off hand this spell when your destruction is decently cost reduced. Since it has basically the same trajectory as spells like Firebolt you pair it up with that and the Magika you spend for the spells comes out net positive meaning you are actually generating Magika instead of spending it. Makes a great mid game weapon. Same goes for circle of entropy, plop down a big aoe of magic regen that lasts a while and blast away. Some spells are insanely good for utility and I recommend them immensely. Deep Storage-SSS Tier, infinite storage through a spell, make looting runs insane by carrying literally everything. Why loot just the goodies when I can grab every cup, iron, bucket, kettle and spoon like they are just septims on the ground? Longstrider-As a mage you will likely have way more Magika than stamina, this lets you basically sprint with Magika which is way more efficient. And it has tons of other utility too. Don’t forget that you can reduce the cost of the spell and increase its magnitude to go even faster, for longer. Blink- Bro, you teleport. Enough said. Ocato’s Recital- Slap Oakflesh/Stoneflesh/whatever armor spell you want with this for it to auto cast when fights start. Added benefit that the cast trigger is a great way to detect when you find something hostile. For a really insane spell, get expert alteration and pick up Gravity Diamond. (Buy in winterhold if you don’t want to wait for level 25~) assuming you have ranged options and decently good Magika regen or cost reduction this annhilates anything without ranged attacks. Immobilizing them for easily over 60 seconds from a range is way better than the extremely nerfed paralyze spells. Why have them flop over for a couple seconds when you can just freeze them for as long as you need. Plop down a circle of entropy, fire the diamond and then blast away as long as you need refreshing the diamond as needed. I love hunting giants with this spell. I will admit I feel as though I got really lucky quite early on as I haven’t replaced my gear that I found since like lvl 5 and don’t plan on doing so until I’m ready to smith and enchant end game armor. I got a really lucky drop (I think) from clearing out some necromancers randomly. I got a set of Adept Alteration and Destruction Robes (on one robe two cost reducers on both schools that I use a lot and insane Magika regen) paired with some nice boots, hat ring and necklace for some minor buffs I doubt I’ll be using armor till I can find something that’s truly better. Rn I’ve been solo exploring the gorgeous world trying to empty my very long list of quests. Btw if anybody knows how to fix a bug I’ve been having. Even with an empty inventory (remove everything except the couple quest related notes) I still have around 50-60lb of gear somehow and can’t figure out where the weight is coming from. Please let me know if anybody else came across this.

I used to think this modpack is too hard, but it’s configurable to some extent and it’s harder than the vanilla game but it’s so rewarding finishing a bandit hideout at level 10 without dying once. The accomplishment felt from knowing when to block and when to swing, when to dodge, when to use a bow if you have one (I’m playing a redguard legionnaire, so I go between a crossbow and a sword and shield) Only thing I changed was turning off fast travel cost because I work for a living irl and I don’t want to spend all my time walking everywhere, and I do just prefer fast traveling. My playtime window is very limited.

It's a shame LoreRim doesn't have a dedicated guide. There are so many mods, so many tweaks, it would be amazing if it had something like a wiki were you could at least know what spells, armors, magical effects... are in the game so you could plan something ahead. Can you tell us something about survival mechanics? Is there something like Campfire so you can camp anywhere, or Frostfall to implement a freezing mechanic? Is it possible to respec your perks, maybe after defeating Miraak? Normally respec is forbidden in Requiem's lists. Is there any item or spell to teleport around the map? Or any to teleport in combat?
@RelentlessZen
@RelentlessZen 5 ай бұрын
All great questions, il make sure to include answers in the part video. for survival Requiem has all of that baked in and you can untick it in default survival mode setting. Fast traveling is the same as regular, there is more options like boats now too. haven't seen any respec stuff yet, il look into it though
