Sadly... And unfortunately they denied Christ recenlty and are no longer following the faith. I would be careful now of their music seeing now none of it was from genuine born of the Spirit faith. Rather as the apostle John said... Those who went out from among us were never of us. Pray for them... Pray they would see they were false converts and see Christ truly.

Michael and Lisa Gungor were the worship leaders at our home church back in the late 90's. His music was so creative and unusual. Absolutely beautiful. They are an amazingly talented couple. We were heartbroken when they left for another opportunity.

Gungor is an example of spirituality, great lyrics, originality, and an amazing musicality..... For a long time I was looking for a band of excellence in these qualities and finally found them.... Gungor is bringing back the accordion! There's this thing here sitting on the stool, one hand playing keys other hand opening and closing the bellows. Then in his Dry Bones acoustic video Lisa plays the clarinet-like accordion where you actually have to blow into it. Those would be awesome to get!

I am one of those Christian musicians being influenced as you say. I was preparing to record my own independent album when I discovered Gungor. I decided to go back and think carefully about my work, imagine details, time signatures, arrangements, instruments, chord positions... For some reason I don't feel inadequate and depressed listening to Gungor (as if, I could never do what they are doing)-- rather, it's given me faith to raise my standards.

Gungor has some great music. You haven't heard of these guys because mainstream Christian radio stations don't play them. It's a shame we have to listen to the same songs over and over. I do find SiriusXM Message station to branch out a bit more. I guess you have to create your own station on Pandora, Slacker...
