Happy Tuesday! Today's video includes some helpful approaches to teaching and improving the timing of Releve’ passe’. Here are several more tips not mentioned in the video as well...try inhaling on the pile and exhaling to Releve’. Be sure to energetically lift through the pile' but press the energy grounding down through the ball of the supporting foot and into the floor on the Releve’. Lastly try not to stress about the perfection of hitting the balance perfectly. There's lots of information in figuring out what caused the dancer to fall in a certain direction. Also remind dancers that the central axis for this balance is straight through the top of the head so the shoulders and hips need to remain aligned typically a little further back than the dancer realizes...almost as if they were trying to keep their back against a wall.
