I added how if Ikkakumon->Zudomon had a fancy digivolution animation like Greymon-MetalGreymon and Garurumon->Weregarurmon, the scene where they are inside a bigger ver. of themselves which becomes something else (Metalgreymon: Machindramon and Weregarurumon: the Moon), I think it be Archelomon for Ikakumon's case.

That’s what I meant and even gabumon got sick but we couldn’t physically see it. The point I was trying to explain is because there in the digital world if they have any sort of injuries or illness it should be digital data and shown.

Okay, now I can finally say that the writers for yamato’s team probably put all their might into Joe’s episode cause this was epic, it could rival to Mimi’s and Koushiro’s solo episodes. I mean, we were shown how strategic Sora and Yamato were as if they did not need Joe very much and because of that he felt useless most of the times. Now the situation has changed. Joe was needed to be in the frontline and because of that it was a huge amount of pressure for him but he managed to succeed and thus earn the crest of “reliability” by handling his situation on his own with gomamon. This was such a character growth and also very relatable. If I were put in a situation where I am not prepared, I would evade it but Joe did not thanks to Ikkakumon. He learnt that it was fine if he was not prepared or cautious as he usually is, sometimes he needs to put himself out there and toughen it up. Hands down, better episodes than the rest of his teammates. Also, I love how gomamon which is like a baby seal turned into a buff furry. Out of the others, he’s probably the most buff lmao. Edit: what do you think was that cave? Was it just a random cave for an exit? Do you think the cave will stay there or will somehow move away randomly?

I think the cave was a digital gate. And I think there are several more digital gates now that the evil digimon will be using to come to the real world.

I love Jou in this. 100% better than tri Jou. It's nice to see the acknowledgement that being a doctor isn't just about grades and prestige but about helping others who are sick or injured play out on screen. And I don't think they made it back to the real world. I'm calling a training simulator for an eventual real world invasion.

5:45 - I see your point, most definitely. While I love the japanese cast, i won't deny it does make some forms not seem as cool. It was my greatest complaint when i started checking out the Japanese version. Its partly the reason I'm looking forward to a dub soon. Because the Champion/Ultimate voices are really cool sounding, and it's made better since in this series, the Digivolved forms have much more dialog than ever before. Now about that future dub, I'm hoping that it's done the same way Tri and Kizuna's dub was done. Keeping a lot of the OG cast while keeping the Japanese music. Especially here, because 'Be The Winners' and 'X-Treme Fight' are spectacular songs.

Exactly spot on. I’m thinking they won’t make many changes when the sun is released. But can you imagine if “hey digimon” makes a return to the 2020 series I think I would lose it. But again I hope they don’t change anything.

Hmm... even though this episode nowhere near Koushiro and Mimi episodes' greatness, I still like this one better than Sora and Yamato's.. Because Jou was really tried his best to be in his 'reliable-man' mode. Oh, and Zudomon digivolution was even better than AtlurKabuterimon.. whyyyyy???? Yes, I still think that Jou's crest is in fact the 'Crest of Reliability' instead of Sincerity or Honesty as the Japanese version's said (in Japan, his crest dubbed as 'Seijitsu', and its meaning was literally Honesty). Because even in the 1999's version, Zudomon first digivolution was because Jou was tried his best to protect Takeru as he already promised to Takeru's mom. He tried his best to be a reliable senior or big brother to Takeru. So imagine my confusion when I watched the 02, the episode when they discovered 'the DigiEgg of Reliability' and Iori was upset because he couldn't mantain his honesty like his grandfather instilled on him.. Wait, what? Please don't change Jou crest's meaning.. the 'Reliability' was perfect for him, because it was what usually lack from him.. Hmm.. about Zudomon lack-of-growl voice, if you watched the Japanese version of 1999 series, his voice as Ikkakumon and Zudomon was just like that, still like Gomamon but a bit in lower pitch.. well his voice actress, Junko -san, was the same as Naruto's so yeah.. not manly enough I know.. Oh I forgot! I like Jou's reactions and conditions when he rode Ikkakumon! Hahahaha.. he was so real..

I saw the original in Japanese as well and I wasn’t a fan of the voice there as well. And don’t get me wrong Izzys episode was much better than Joes episode but the animation of the sequence of Zudamons transformation was solid I didn’t expect it to be like that.

I just realized in pendulum z deep savers introduced a mega digimon called regalecusmon and his sword is made from zudomon’s horn, imagine if joes zudomon fought this digimon and lost his horn.

It was a solid episode but not as good as last week episode... Joe is an underestimated character for me... I agree with you that he is not Coward... When he debut in Episode 7 I never thought of him as a coward... I think he wants in a every situation to be prepared carefully and strategical planned... And because in every scenario you just freely fight and just planned there in instant and that is Joe's weakness... But you can sense also that he also reflects the Crest of Realibility not only in this episode but also the previous ones.. In terms of Joe fighting alone with Mammothmon... I think I prefer this way on him to battle alone... Because it shows he is not a comic relief after all and he is an asset on the team itself and I remember in the last comment that if Ikkakumon digivolve, Garurumon will also did the same, I am happy that it didn't happen because it will became redundant. The Digivolution of Ikakumon to Zudomon was very good but the battle was lacking something although showing the hammer made me think of Thor... I notice between Yamato and Sora... I don't know if just me or just my shipping heart that is feeling that Yamato is now protective of Sora like he orders Garurumon to save her from the Yukidarumon... As of the Taichi's group... I agree with you it is a funny scene when Mimi is riding Kiwimon because she thinks it was cute and while they were running Izzy said that they were in the right direction but Taichi and Mimi said its not that important right now... I am now curious in the last scene... As of the Ultimate episodes from MetalGreymon up to Zudomon... They have unique on how each situation they have to digivolved but in the last 2 episode of the Ultimate arc only Izzy and Joe have a pep talk with their partners in order to snap out of their senses while Tai, Matt, Mimi and Sora they rely on their own personal emotions... It was a solid episode over all... Side Note: In the real world only mobile phones and internet are working... I watch your last video about the Digimon Empress... It got me thinking... I know its early but now its starting to make sense about your theory in the Tachikawa technology...

Thanks for that finally someone gets where I’m coming from when it comes to my theory. I noticed the look that Matt gave to sora when she was sick when they were on garuromon. Subtle but effective there doing really in terms of the buildup of this relationship between the two. And joe having to save the day by himself gives his character credibility and not just him being a side guy.

Err... His Hammer literally caller Thor's Hammer actually.. So yeah.. I like this Thor's Hammer and the fact that it was an attack that based on lightning element not water or ice, because Zudomon somehow had a little similiarity with AtlurKabuterimon now, and that little similiarity was essential for them to do 'Gattai' digivolution in the future if Toei tend to do more 'Gattai' digivolution like Omegamon..

It's just me but so far the original did the ultimate evolution 10x better than the reboot... Just look at the sacrifices... Joe drowned to save TK (Crest of Reliability) , Sora didn't want to keep battling because Biyomon is injured and learn the life lesson of a loving mother (Crest of Love) , Matt activate his crest to save his friend, Joe (Crest of Friendship), etc

That’s debatable I did like Mimi Tai and Izzys activation and even this week Joes one was good because he was the reliable shield against the enemy digimon. But some of them when compared to the original are better but not many I feel. This series has done the activation justice.

Well, for the og, ultimate evo was their peak digivolution. But dont forget that the reboot will have Mega as their peak dogovolution, so dont lose hope just yet. I mean, "someone tried to protect his friends by facing an ultimate digimon am bunch of champions alone (even tai only faced one ultimate, right?) and tried not to make others worried" was a great reliability thing. Well, but I agree on sora and matt's story thogh, theirs are kinda bland, but not that bad in my opinion. But again, they're still not at their peak and there are still lots of spaces for char devlopment

Hmm.. For me this episode was good enough compared to the 1999 version (why every 'Reliability' episode, they must battled MetalSeadramon? In 01 and 02 too!), but I agree with you, for crest with great meanings like 'Love' and 'Friendship' their episodes were less impactful.. I thought it would be more impressive if the episode 8 was the one that digivolve Garurumon to WereGarurumon.. why not? Kouji from Frontier did have his Beast-Spirit Evolution first..

Hmm... Now I kinda had this thought at why the children was separated into two groups and the members were Taichi, Koushiro & Mimi for 1st group and Yamato, Sora & Jou for 2nd group.. The 1st group were the children who already embodied their crests and they're shining through.. and the 2nd group were the children who still need some times and conditions (and needs each-other too) for their crests to shining through.. Like Yamato, the bearer of Friendship but aloof and not friendly enough, Jou, the bearer of Reliability but not reliable enough.. and Sora... *sigh, we didn't have enough Sora-time to knew if she embodied her crest of Love or not or it just a sympathy.. So how is it?

@@DimzysDomain Yeah, and if we got the remaining children to get their 'Gattai' (not Jogress, right?) like Omegamon, I think Jou will be partnered with Koushiro.. and you already knew like Taichi and Yamato how they personality clash.. Koushiro is likes the rationally-smart, calm but humble boy, and Jou? A bit irrationally-smart.. or I could say silly-smart, nervewracker, and tend to brag himself.. a total polar opposite.. I can feel that if Toei wants to add more 'Gattai' pairings, Koushiro-Jou problem would be at how they crack and give solution to move forward, then their opinion clashed and maybe for the first time they got into argument.. Then.. Sora and Mimi.. you already knew how different they could be.. The Mother and The Queen.. yeah.. And we already got Takeru and Hikari with their angel-like digimons, done said. Qinglongmon said that he embodied the Light and Hope and the protector of the East. If I could guessed, the protector of the West, Baihumon, the White Tiger, was embodied with Courage and Friendship. Then the protector of the North, Ebonwumon, the Black Tortoise, was embodied with Knowledge and Reliability. And the last, the protector of the South, Zuqiaomon, the Vermillion Bird, was embodied with Love and Sincerity/Purity. But again I could be wrong.. Because Zuqiaomon said to be the destructive one and with virus atribute.. So with a hint of Digimon Sovereign, I guess we could go with another 'Gattai' from the remaining children.. (I couldn't help but have this idea of Goddramon/Golddramon was a Gattai between Seraphimon and Holydramon..)

Joe may be my least fave digi-destined but I like this episode for him, he's actually trying hard to be helpful as the distraction and good Character development, from Scardy cat to finally taking some responsibility. Side-note love the Tai-Ko-Mi scenes with the Kiwimons

I'm glad with this episode. I feel Toei did justice to Joe in this episode. I think this episode wont good enough cause Matt and sora's episode were less earned, but oh my, I was wrong. I can feel his sense of responsibility, even zudomon could feel Joe's responsibility, you could saw his eyes reflect Joe's crest XD I agree that Zudomon's digivolution scene is the best out of MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon, it was so good. About Ikkakumon's voice, well I like his voice though. I feel nostalgic because his voice is the same as naruto, Gon (hxh), and endou (inazuma eleven), I lobe it, so I won't complain. I think junko (the voice actor) uses kid naruto when she voices Gomamon and adult Naruto for ikkakumon. Owh and cuteness wise, Gomamon is second after Patamon for me XD And here is my theory about the ending. For me, the ending kinda shows that TK is separated with the others and he will have his own little adventure, and hell yeah, I'd love to see this happening, one or two episodes dedicated to TK and his little adventure would be epic. 10+ episodes without him is ubearable for me :v Unfortunately, from what I've read from the spoilers, it seems that he will appear in episode 19, cause iirc in episode 18 a digimon in "tokyo" will trigger TK and Kari's power. Oops, too much spoiler. I'm so excited, cant wait to watch.

Wait, where do you find the spoiler? I only could find the episode 18 (or 19?) episode information and title, where Leomon will be appears.. Yes, I thought that too, the first time I watched the 2nd ending.. Takeru will have his own adventure with Patamon, just like the episode when they were separated in File Island and ended in the Primary Village, and when Taichi's gone and the other children got separated until there just him, Patamon, Yamato and Gabumon.. then Yamato and Gabumon didn't come back too.. They are sooo cutr together! Ah, his crest in American version was 'Reliability' not 'Responsibility' although it similiar enough.. but in Japanese version it was 'Seijitsu', mean 'Honesty'... I don't understand why.. It didn't define Jou at all.. Reliability was more of him..
