This is so good, thank you! I like the editing, jazzy music, and the ideas to get a square cut are great, very helpful. And at the end, your vocabulary lets me believe you may also be a cardiothoracic surgeon😉

That’s purdy cool. I had thought about using a hose clamp to help guide it.

Thanks! A hose clamp could work well too!

Great tip. That's a nice square you have there! Quick question. What's the saw? I've never seen one like that over here in the UK.
@TheGrainDoctor3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The saw is a Lenox PVC saw, they sell them at the home centers for pretty cheap.

Other methods for the loose pipe: a) spin in a table saw sled, b) bandsaw
@3dChris Жыл бұрын
Would you recommend a bandsaw or a miter saw for cutting 4 inch pipe?
@TheGrainDoctor Жыл бұрын
Either would work, but you need to be very careful about the pipe spinning and getting out of control. Clamp it to a jig or something.

@@TheGrainDoctor wow, thanks for the fast reply. I’m cutting a 6 inch pipe in half lengthwise. Then I cut each half into 1 inch slices to make a bunch of half circles. I’ve been using a table saw with a jig I made but the cuts aren’t square, so I have to sand them down and that creates inconsistencies between all the slices. A band saw is less expensive than I miter saw, but I feel like a miter saw would guarantee straight cuts and would be faster for doing a large quantity of cuts. Would you agree? Thank you for your input/feedback.
@TheGrainDoctor Жыл бұрын
@3dChris I agree, miter saw would be good for the second part - table saw jig as you are doing might be best for the cutting lengthwise part.

You need to let your text stay on the screen long enough for mere mortals to be able to speed read it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will work on that for future videos!
