@yeahbutytho1265 жыл бұрын
God went to all the effort to create the world and the one thing he couldn’t wait to say to us the most important thing from father to son was eat plants son. Man only ate animals once fallen and when we had started the path to destruction. The fish and bread is disputed as fish weed not fish. Also interesting for me and many won’t agree is that Jesus went to the temple of yehwah where animals were being sacrificed and money was being made from their suffering and he drove out the animals and the money makers and told them that they should not treat gods house that way. Then the establishment crucified him. John the Baptist lived on locust beans, James the just Jesus*s chosen leader of the church was vegetarian. However talking about 2000 years ago has no impact on where we are today. We don’t need to eat carcasses to have a healthy life. There are 7.5billion of us and the world cannot support that lifestyle and its cruel. Why do something that’s cruel, kills people and gods creations if we don’t need too. There is no justifiable reason. If you believe in god and you die and he asks you, “you were informed it was wrong and yet you continued to do it” how will you answer this. I don’t think that we “I like the taste” or “because we have always done it” will be a reasonable justification to a loving god.

Proud Christian & proud vegan here! :D I believe God used my interest in tiny homes/ van life youtubers to bring me into veganism. I love the minimalism, tiny living movement and I was researching how our family could minimize and live with less because we are typical Americans (lots of wasted stuff in our lives). But something stuck when I saw multiple vegan van life couples. I wanted that and I wanted to actually give it a real go. I’ve been fully vegan for 1 month now and I feel closer to Jesus and cleaner inside. Mostly my health feels better, but my conscience does as well. God said have dominion over the earth, dominion never meant abuse & torture. Dominion means take responsibility, care for, provide for, and oversee the earth.
A wonderful vegan Christian oriented websiste that goes into all this in great detail: www.all-creatures.org. One question raised - as was by the host - is why people of conscience such as found among faith based communities continue to participate in animal exploitation by eating animals.

If you go by the Bible, God made us vegan and told us to eat only plants. It wasn't until after the fall, after the flood, when we were officially sinners that God said we could eat animals. So if you want to how God intented, go vegan. If you want to eat like a sinner, eat animals. (No, I don't believe any of it, but I was once a Christian and read the Bible, and I am vegan.)
@adamaj745 жыл бұрын
@HazardousPleb V Neither, it didn't happen.
@lightsrallon9075 жыл бұрын
adamaj You said you don't believe the story that God said we could eat animals, so why repeat it? Way too many sure do believe it. It's just another excuse to blame God for evil. The truth is that free will was given and humans chose themselves to use it to do evil and kill the most innocent. It's as simple as that. And here's why all those claims that there was nothing else to eat but animals after some flood that covered the earth is a lie: If there was no plants left, what did all the animals eat -- each other? How could there have been any animals left alive if both humans AND animals were eating each other the whole time it took for plants to grow back? None of it makes a bit of sense. God can't be found in a book corrupted by men with an agenda.
@adamaj745 жыл бұрын
@@lightsrallon907 If god knows you're going to do something, can you choose NOT to do it? And how does god know? Because he is omniscient and created you, and you have to act according to how he designed you. If we have free will then god is not god because he cannot be all knowing. If we don 't have freewill then god is evil because he created a universe where evil exists, and then punishes us for being evil. For us to truly have freewill then god would have to be an imperfect being. But then if god is imperfect, why should I listen or follow him? On a side note, about the food situation, obviously a creationist will say the Noah took enough food to last through all that.
@brookgraves3685 жыл бұрын
Do you believe anything about Jesus? Why did he feed thousands that were hungry fish? He mentioned a parent giving a hungry child an EGG, rather than a Scorpian. So, he acknowledged that an EGG was food. He attended a wedding party that served the typical Meat dishes of the time. He mentions a Fatted Calf in the story of the Prodigal Son... His ancestors, like David were Sheep Herders, and or had goats (Abraham, Jacob). Unfortunately, something changed in our bodies later that gives us need for saturated fats. But, 100% plant eating is not humanly sustainable for lengthy periods, for healthy thriving human beings. If you are like 90 % of humans, than you lived out your infancy and childhood eating animal foods, now you are just Fasting. Let's see how many years you will thrive, but please do not try and force others to try this experiment for life. We deserve Food Freedom as well.
@adamaj745 жыл бұрын
@@brookgraves368 Nothing you've said about Jesus, saturated fat, etc., is based on any evidence or actual facts. You can't even prove to me Jesus existed. Any expert on nutrition or medical professional will tell you saturated fat is a major contributor to heart disease, stroke, etc. And how long is a "lengthy" period for eating plants? I've been vegan almost 7 years and I guarantee my bloodwork and vitals are better than yours. There are people that have been vegan their entire lives. They have found groups of Neanderthals that were vegan. The only U.S. power lifter to qualify for the olympics was vegan and he set a record! Google vegan athletes and bodybuilders. Does it look like they're lacking or thriving? As a citizen, why should my tax dollars go to pay for preventable diseases, all because you want to make ignorant decides about diet? Our number one killer, heart disease, costs us over 200 billion every year and is completely preventable by diet and lifestyle in virtually all cases.

The logic is clearly visible: What we give to the body influences its spirit and, depending on the situation, it either hurts or pleases the eternal soul. Whoever feels, knows and respects this order no longer has to do anything, he doesn't even have to steal the fruit of the trees! When light becomes our first nourishment, then the Holy Spirit can enter into us and complete its work.

The Garden of Eden is vegan. It's the Garden of Vegan! No eating flesh in the spiritual world/heaven. But then, the soul has no need for any kind of 'food'. This does not, however, mean that we HAVE to eat them; and the manner in which commercial farms raise animals is not kosher. There is no contradiction between between the Bible and eating vegan. While God gave us meat to eat, animals will not be killed when Jesus returns to rule the earth for 1,000 years before its end. Just like how there will be no sexual intercourse in heaven (Matthew 22:30) and no childbearing either (Isaiah 56:4-5). God gave us meat to eat after the flood (Genesis 9:3). Interestingly, God told us to NOT EAT animal fat. Probably because he knew saturated fat is bad. He said we could use it for any purpose other than eating (Leviticus 7:23-24). No animal will be killed or killing each other during Jesus's Millenial rule. Wolves and lambs will eat together, and lions will eat straw like the ox does (Isaiah 65:25). Men and women neither marry each other nor are they given in marriage in heaven, so no sexual intercourse (Matthew 22:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:34-36, 1 Corinthians 7:27-31). Eunuchs (and the childless) will receive a name and place better than sons and daughters in heaven (Isaiah 56:4-5).

The Creator of the universe ate fish to prove that he was raised from the dead in bodily form. Maybe our system is immoral, but a teaching that states that it is immoral to eat animals in this fallen world is proclaiming that Jesus is immoral and thus not capable of paying for our sins before a Holy and righteous God. Also, that we are without hope and yet condemned to the Lake of Fire. It is true that the original diet in perfect Creation is vegan (see the last three verses in Genesis 1) and I believe we are going back to that in the New Creation. However, stating that consuming animals or animal products is immoral in any system is false teaching.

Romans 14:1-3. It’s as clear as that. God does not care what kind of diet you should to follow. Whether you want to be vegan or not, it’s not going to make you any more holier or closer to God. And for those saying Jesus was vegan forget that he ate fish. Mathew 6:25.

@Molson Muscle, I thought that the fish corpses were a mistranslation for fishweed, which is an aquatic desert plant. How would Jesus even get the grapes from the lake?

It is true that the Bible permits the use of animals for food proposes. However as Paul taught "all things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial". Today the use of animals is no longer beneficial for our health or the environment and it is certainly not beneficial for the animals. What once may have once been considered am acceptable mode of living in biblical times is not necessarily the right thing for the here and now.

@Philip Guyott, wrong, eating animals has never been morally justified because it has always been unhealthy for humans. If anything, it only hindered with survival because hunters wasted time chasing animals, and the flesh is toxic to humans! That’s like saying slavery was once necessary!

@Molson Muscle How do you square this fact with all the other parts of the bible? If you read the bible as a whole it is pretty obvious whom you should not kill: Other people that believe in the same god. Otherwise, god ordered his people on a lot of occasions to violate his commandments.

@Molson Muscle Wrong is a point of view. If you look at the original texts they say don't consume flesh and by flesh they mean what they eat I have listened to rabbis, Hebrew translations and modern translations from various practitioners. They all conclude the same thing. Don't consume animals.

@Molson Muscle I don't know what you're saying is wrong. There's a lot you have to consider with translations and I don't agree with what you're trying to say. I'm not cherry picking anyting you're refusing a translation which is not my problem that's your cross to bear.
