I am Catholic from Europe, and I know that according to the Muslim religion the Kaaba means cube and has been built by Abraham and his son Ismael, the father of the Arabs. During tawaf the believers try to touch and kiss the Black Stone in a corner. Ismael is the son of Hagar, and they were sent to desert. Hagar hurried between two rocks to find water and found the Zamzam well. Please let me know if I am right?

Dear Corey, Ka’bah is not the stone, Ka’ba is the whole black structure. The stone is called Al-Hajr al-Aswad (the black stone). The black stone is the only original stone that remained from the original structure built by Abraham and Ishmael, thus it’s revered.

Make this city ˹of Mecca˺ secure, and keep me and my children away from the worship of idols. My Lord! They have caused many people to go astray. So whoever follows me is with me, and whoever disobeys me-then surely You are ˹still˺ All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.(14:35-36) As Abraham raised the foundations of the House(kaaba) with Ishmael, [they prayed]: ‘Our Lord, accept it from us! Provide for those who believe in GOD and the Last Day." (God) said, "I will also provide for those who disbelieve. I will let them enjoy, temporarily, then commit them to the retribution of Hell, and a miserable destiny." (Quran 2:126) (Abraham prayed) Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants(Ishmael) in an barren valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer. Okay, they seems to misunderstand what kaaba actually even the interviewer doesn't understand. The kaaba is not a stone , it's a room like structure called the house of Allah. Muslims consider this room to be the first official mosque or place where a human prostrated and worshipped the creator. The stone is place in one of the corners of the room, this stone is considered to be from heaven, there is a story behind that if you want more info.... It was built or rebuilt by abraham but that doesn't mean abraham made only this mosque. He probably made other rooms or mosques to worship the creator inside them. If you google , you will find other similar structures as kaaba who people not only muslims believe were built by abraham. Muslims consider this place as holy, and as we muslim believe islam is not new religion but prophet Muhammad s.a.w was the last messenger so other messengers taught and preached the same message. Mecca was actually a empty desert at first, Hagar and Ishmael whom God created a well for the two stranded and waterless at the time, and it was empty, but around the miraculous well is where Ishmael and his mother settled, later other people looking for water migrated there and started building a community, even at the time of the prophet, Mecca still didn’t seem all that populated. Ishmael integrated within the community and Abraham who visited occasionally would teach with his son(both prophets in our tradition) the people monotheism, the place was monotheist place at first, worshipping only the God of Abraham and Ishmael, it was only much later that people deviated, and that’s when prophet Muhammad pbuh reviewed back the truth and monotheism of his distant great father Abraham.
