When I first saw Kundun I thought this scene (recreated in the movie) was the former Dalai Lama doing a final song-and-dance ritual where he anointed the new Lama (Tenzin) before dying at the end of the ceremony. Thank goodness I did my research later on and the Nechung oracle just goes limp at the end.

What a shame for the servants who make statues with their own hands then worship them and pray to them abandoning the great Creator who is God I am not criticizing anyone. Every person is free in his belief and has the freedom to worship whoever he wants, but I am very ashamed because we all make people as if they were the ones who created us and give them gifts and money even though we are the ones who need this money more than them, but God the Great Creator does not want us to. Money or gifts. He does not want anything from us. He wants us to worship Him only and believe that He is the Creator and everything else is created and cannot be worshiped.😢😢

I agree with you. These types of practices and also things like Kundalini yoga are dangerous (just my opinion). A few people will warn about these things but of course they're basically ignored. People obsess over hidden knowledge or power or spirits, magic, etc, but meanwhile they ignore just basic problems we should be focused on fixing and learning to forgive and have love for each other like Christ taught. Spiritual pride is a slippery slope and people thinking they are "above" other people because they have access to secret teachings and practices is definitely a real thing. I've seen this too many times and almost got caught up in it myself studying all the occult/esoteric stuff. At some point I realized though all this ever leads to is pride and lack of humility (which is hard enough itself to put into practice daily).

Every religion and way of practicing is different. and by saying Buddhist or BUDDHA, it doesn't meant it is only 1 Particular aspect,Only the picture of Buddha, it is a like a BIG UMBREALLA,where different kinds of Oracles or Buddhist Deities are present. and Did you NOTICE the " NECHUNG " it is one of the ACTIVE and STRONGEST ORACLE in Tibetan Buddhism,it is a MEDIUM. NOT easy to invite Oracle in such an auspicuous day. If you want to know and learn Buddhist, important to watch and do reseach to enhance your knowledge, Not to judge and criticize through your ZERO or LITTLE KNOWLEDGE. I also did research and learned tibetan language along with the Buddhism to enhance my Buddhism, it is Inexplicable, LEARN BUDDHISM, as a GENUINCE STUDENT NOT LIKE AN EXPERT,that way, you will learn in your life.
