Is the place name "Ozark" derived from the name of that boat?

The name of the boat and the name "Ozark" are both derived from a descriptive name that early French fur trappers used to describe a place on the Arkansas River.

Yes, she hit a snag in the White River in Arkansas and went down but was raised and repaired.

This is interesting and sheds some light on things. These boats I would assume travel up and down most of the river in georgia,florida, and alabama during this time period.

Yes they did. They could carry tons of cargo and draw only 18 inches or less of water.
