Thanks for this man. Can you do a tool set up for 45 app to show how to set up the dies? This would be extremely appreciated. Thanks again for taking the time. I subbed just for the reloading vids and the solar.

I noticed you tighten the toolhead bolt it in the bottom position, so that the locating pins help to make sure it's aligned. Have you considered also "breaking" or loosening that bolt in the bottom position when you are removing the toolhead? It seems like that would give support to the toolhead and take the load off the rest of the mechanism that doesn't necessarily have to have that torque on it. I'd love to see more 1050 videos. There aren't enough on KZbin, compared to the other progressive reloaders.

which one of the presses would you recommend more between the two you own (dillon 1050 and 650) and why? Is it easy to do caliber changes on the 650 at all because I would want to spend good money on a quality progessive press only for pistol but for several calibers.

How much longer would it take to swap out the shell plate?
@usethenoodle5 жыл бұрын
The shell plate is a couple minutes. If you are changing primer size, there is a few more minutes for that. It isn't so much time or difficulty, it's expense. For me, since I have the Mr Bullet feeder, that requires a caliber change too. Also the case feeder may require a change as he does in this video since he went from pistol to rifle. So ya, a caliber change costs me about $500. I knew that going in so it's no shocker. I do 9mm, .40S&W, 38/357, and .556. I may do .300 Blackout 7.62X39 and .308 sometime in the future. Rifle I tend to do on a single station press since I usually only do 100 or so at a time. This machine really rocks for pistol calibers or something you shoot a lot of. In my case it's pistol. My wife shoots pistol too, so we use a lot of ammo. Mainly we shoot .45 ACP and 9mm in 1911s. I shoot a moderate amount of .40 in my two Glocks which are the guns I use for Church Security. So I practice regularly with those. They are both .40, a G22 primary and a G23 backup. The smaller G23 also fits the larger G22's magazines, so I can use all the spare magazines in either pistol. As John Farnam say's "two are one and one is none". Meaning if your primary pistol goes down, and you have no backup, you have nothing.

do you know someone who has made a 1050 complete caliber change?
@fishblade210 жыл бұрын
or can you make a video showing how and what pieces get changed on the bottom of the 1050 press including how to change primer sizes for a complete caliber change?
@usethenoodle5 жыл бұрын
@@fishblade2 I will make a video on this in the near future.
