Thanks. I think with a few tweaks I can speed up dry times by a week or so.

Love the kiln! I could dry a batch in about three days as hot as it has been getting here in Southern Illinois 😂 Keep stacking it deep👍🏻👍🏻

We had some 100+ days and you'd think it would make a difference, but there's a limit to how hot the building will get with solar alone, and it really needs the wood stove (or some heat source) to keep the temp up through the overnight. My next upgrade will be better fans. I think improved airflow will speed up the dry time a little.

Nice video Phil

Got me thinking Phil, I seen the videos when you visited Chris from In The Wood Yard. A large wood bin would be awesome to increase production while you wait for the kiln dried wood. Yes, it does mean getting the wood supply. Then the thought of when you visited Dan at Back 40, a Japa would be economical in the sense of a processor, when the funds are available as your business grows and goals are met. I am sure you already have the plans going forward and definitely have a great set of people to lean on for advice and guidance. As Chris always says, it is easy to spend someone else’s money. lol. Either way, I truly enjoy all your videos and I am along for the journey and cheering for you all the way. Keep the dream alive and never give up. 👍🏻👍🏻

No doubt I'll have to change my process to scale up. At some point cutting and moving every piece of wood by hand doesn't make sense. Stay tuned!

Love seeing the growth! I know 6 figures in firewood seems like a daunting task. I would love to know where you’re at currently and how you plan to grow it to that level. Do you already have the demand and it is an inventory issue or do you have to change marketing? I personally love seeing how businesses strategize their growth.

I'll share some those details as I grow. Up to this point its been strictly a supply issue holding me back.

six figurs is tough, thats 300 or so cords, if you get all your wood for free. with your splitter i know my hands couldnt handle that abuse i run a similar setup and if i due a 8 hr day of firewood my hands are sore from handling the wood., look forward to see if you can pull it off.!

no doubt it'll be a lot of work. My numbers are a little different as I have focused on lower-volume and higher revenue-per-cord sales. I'll have less overall volume to hit that sales goal, but more transactions to get there.
@BGWenterprises4 ай бұрын
Just basic numbers. 1.25cf bundles $7 each Something like 145 cord a year, to get to the gross $$ number your talking about. . Probably a outdoor boiler supplying heat to several drying sheds would be more practical than a stove in each one. Use your junk to dry wood that way. there's many different ways it can be done. A massive unstacked pile in a building might be something I'd try. But then I can cut lumber/beams 26 foot, lol. . The drawing board is your friend. Then, Make it happen. 0.01c

exactly. I've averaged $760/cord across all sales in the past. I expect to keep that per cord number pretty high as I scale up the volume.

@WoodsTreeFarm just a thought. mabe 4 drying sheds, one gets to 4 weeks every week. We'll that's still only 100 cord a little shy of the 145 per year. Increase wood amount per dry room you can make it work. With a wood boiler going non stop. All yea gotta do is throw, time, money, and effort at it.. . The question I see is, at what point does a manufactured dryer become practical.
