I am a Kenyan living in Nigeria and I find going out depressing bcoz it's more of how you look than the comfort and fun. Kenyan's priorities are comfort and fun, what pple think is irrelevant.

Does that show your lack of preparedness? Why would you travel outside your country to a foreign country without researching an essential travel guide as local weather? I also ask, why do people carry these smart phones and still be deficient in basic information as weather conditions?

Spices usually distort the original/natural taste of foods. Kenyans love natural foods, vegetables, fruits etc..... And therefore spices are not as extensively used in Kenya as compared to Nigeria.

What a clever way to promote your makeup regimen products while giving us Kenya living insights! 😂 Yes, Kenya and especially Nairobi has some of the striking culture shocks to most foreigners but generally, we tend to formalize some of them into national ethos and way of life. *The "wintry and chilly" Nairobi weather is a smack contrast with Kenya's tropical geolocation. As such, seasonal clothing to suit either rainy, hot or chilly weathers is a big thing unlike in most tropics where weather is predictably hot or warm. * Tea culture borrowed from the British and blended with African hospitality is so engrained that a visitor won't go without a welcome hot cup of tea. Our social life revolves around tea drinking and every social or corporate meetup will incorporate tea time in the program no matter what. * Eco consciousness and environmental conservation is highly regarded. Right from schools, students are enlisted in environmental clubs and they grow up with it. Look at Kenya's successful wildlife conservation which is key to the tourism economy.

The thing about Kenya is they r not a 'flashy' ppl..So,the type of car they drive has nothing to do with the kind of money they have or taxes they pay..Ul get a millionaire in Kenya driving a simple Toyota and nobody bats an eye..Its just their way of life..

The reason for so much "British influence", is that Kenya, alongside South Africa and Zimbabwe were settler colonies. Nigeria was majorly a protectorate. Africans for instance, were not allowed to live in Nairobi, unless if working for the settlers or the government institutions. You can even tell Kenyans who went to public schools that were traditionally white only by some little ideological, social differences, and even their accent. Settler colonies tend to have better ranked cricket and rugby teams, as well as that they mostly got independence by violence.

Nigeria driving on the right side is not copying america. It’s because despite nigeria and ghana being english colonies, they were surrounded by french colonies which were right side driving so Nigeria and Ghana had to comply for easier trade and movement with their francophone neighbours

As a man I had to forward most of it because I'm not interested in make up. However I have subscribed because you have enlightened me about a foreigners perspective in kenya.

The choice to drive on the right side of the road is from French West Africa. Most countries in West Africa were colonized by the French. For regional uniformity, all countries from a particular region have to drive on one side of the road

Sis, kenyans did not own their country till 1963. THey were natives in a country with british at the top, indians then blacks. it was a settler colony and only zimbabwe and south africa were created likewise. The british foot on kenya is still very visible and we have many britons today who were actually born in kenya . it was THEIR country till kenyans fought to take it back. big difference with nigeria.
