It's interesting after seeing both builds RE has about 17% more DPS than Surge. While RE is obviously an outlier, it seems like the reworked Surge still got treated well. It looks much closer to RE's ceiling compared to most other classes post-patch. Will be interesting to see how close the difference is after adjustments.

RE also requires way more uptime with your other skills and not just Surge. Would be interesting to see the DPS breakdown of each skills now for this patch. Both builds looks extremely fun to play tho. Gonna be hard deciding which I wanna do

Gotta remember that these changes aren't official yet. They won't leave RE like that, and on top of that, RE has to back attack most abilities compared to Surge so in real fights it will probably be similar dmg etc.

Exactly yeah, since RE requires way more uptime it only makes sense it has a higher celling than Surge. The numbers will def be tuned down for the live version. But then again they did ship Glaiver with insane numbers too so who knows lmao. I rather they not do it though since it'll just entice all the FOTM Andys even more to main swap.

We considered the fact that BA is a problem, and also did a comparison parse removing Entropy for Hallucination and replacing Ambush for Raid Captain. it did around 26-28mil in trix which matches up with the Surge parse in the other video~. Even accounting for the 10% crit and 5% dmg naturally from back attack, this is still insanely high while losing much less DPS from random boss movement.

Looks like many of the skills/tripods will be changing....hopefully I can prefarm some of these. Unfortunately I just moved my DB into ancients last week and now have to buy again. Why not drop adren to 1? I'm thinking RE/Grudge/RC/Ambush/Cursed Doll with adren as +1.

because you need crit rate on blade. adren 1 is not good

@@SaturnXDD I went with adren 3 CD 1 on my current build and have regrets as assuming a crit syn in the party CD 3 adren 1 has a higher ceiling.

We didn't use RC here just for the sake of comparison with the Surge Build video. RC is absolutely viable though, mathematically its about equal to KBW. With yearning, identity, and maelstrom RC ends up at 16.9% dmg increase. This is good and is higher than KBW's ~14-15% dmg. However the problem is that even with the constant CDR from Surging, you can't maintain 100% uptime on mael. At most you can get maybe 70-80% mael uptime when it comes to your dmg. This means 70% of the time, RC is giving you 16.9% and the other 30% its only giving about 10.9%. This ends up at roughly 15.04% overall dmg increase which is identical to KBW.
