Pokémon HGSS is one of the best remakes I have played. One game remake that I wish was better was Persona 1 as it doesn’t have the original music and the whole original bad localization thing can’t make the argument of play the original valid. (Granted I am trying to fix that by translating the Japanese Pc port)

Also, people who haven’t had the chance to play the original game or is very difficult to find or play, a remake and/or remaster is great for those who haven’t gotten the chance to play them previously

I completely agree with you on how a Remake SHOULD be a familiar yet mostly different experience, otherwise what's the point of remaking it if it's going to be largely the exact same game just with updated graphics and whatnot. A remake isn't suppose to be a replacement of the original material as much as people want it to be (Especially when it's already fine as is) , it can very well be it's own thing that could stand next to the original. Most movie remakes are often inferior and pointless because they stayed to close to the original source material, instead of being it's own thing.

I'd love to see Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga parts 1&2 to get HD remasters that add alot of Modern SMT conviences along with remakes of the old games that never came to the west but I have doubts I'll get more than maybe just one. Some other games I'd love to see remastered or remade are the other JP exculsive fire emblems, Blue Dragon (just so a good under rated game can get a bit more attention), and Pokemon gen4. As for my favorite remasters that would be the two HD Zelda remasters on Wii U as both improved the orignals visuals, added little conviences that fixed some of the bigest flaws of the orignal versions and the added Gampad Map and real time item managemate makes we wish nintendo had an app for Breath of the Wild that did something similar on land.

I think the problem most people who shit all over the FF7 remake or Yakuza Kiwami 2 (or any other remake/remaster for that matter !) have is pure nostalgia. I think they just want new people to have the same exact experience they had years ago because it's so precious to them, and they know newcomers probably won't bother seeking out an older version of a shiny new remake that just came out so they can get super protective, you know what I mean ? Or at least I think that's part of the problem ! Either way I'm hella excited about Kiwami 2 :D

I mean my favorite game of all time is a remaster which is Persona 4 Golden so they can be great.
