in the invincible disc they were experimenting with the new tech of the era, MJ wanted to make it futuristical (because they were on the new millienium) and the producers said that they were experimenting with a lot of things and with weird effects that it would be hard to recreate.

I've been trying to recreate that bass sound for a while myself! I think it's a EMU Bass Synth with some 8-bit distortion on it? I could be wrong, but I know you can get bass to "talk" with a bit of distortion on it. Great job recreating one of my all-time favorite MJ Tracks. I make music too!
