The Remarkable 2 is the most eagerly anticipated e-note of 2020! This was worth the wait! It has an all new design that has forgone the physical buttons and everything is now controlled via the software. The company has doubled the processor, RAM and battery life. The screen has new Canvas 2 technology with 21ms latency. The premium pens have tilt sensitivity, for shading.
This review looks at the industrial design, all of the new software improvements, writing experience with the note taking app, editing PDF files and reading ebooks. You will get a sense on if this is right for you.
Make sure to read our comprehensive hands on review, which covers the Remarkable 2 in very high detail. goodereader.com/blog/electron...
You can buy this device from the Good e-Reader Store.

Its will be awesome, Im a medical student and in my classes I take a lot of notes and need to read a lot of books with so much images or the books are just made more friendly design with colors, diagrams. When you have a black -white device you definitely lost that detail, we need color to highlight and we need the color when we read

Maybe if it came out a decade ago... this is one of those things people buy, use for a few weeks and then never use again. One Note/SharePoint is way better for students since you can work on notes together. And if you want to hand write j get a tablet. It does look super satisfying to draw on though

Yes! I seriously considering getting one of these, until I saw him pressing a word without anything happening :( I think being able to do lecture notesand writing on top of pdfs with this thing would be really effective for studying, but when it's not good for e-reading and exporting notes isn't seamless I think I'll pass

Because that's additional money for programming, testing, and updating, and a further step away from the core purpose of the product? If you're not sold on the core idea, a dictionary for the e-reader isn't going to do it for you. And if you are sold on the core idea, not having that isn't a dealbreaker.

BooX Note Air is a nice alternative if you want both note taking device and feature-rich e-reader. Apparently the reMarkable is not addressing that market. The Note Air syncs with Evernote, but does not have the paper feel out-of-the-box.

I assume it’s because it’s not made for reading books as much as it is for drawing and writing. Most of the time, you don’t really need to define a word if you’ve written it. You usually know what it means when you write something.

Allen C precisely my complaint. Light is NOT something you want... Prioritizing writing is eink just underneath the pen with no glass in between! The glass would be needed to spread the light. You don't want that. Also the eye strain comes from lighting, it is just way better to illuminate your surroundings!!!

@@Anita95_original but, the kindle paperwhitr have glass given it has light? I don't think so
@Anita95_original
@Anita95_original 3 жыл бұрын
@@dandovueltas1 You need something, glass or plastic, that spreads the light. If you try to just illuminate it from the sides it will not be uniform and the middle will get no light. To spread the light you need thickness and a conduit to lead the light into the middle of the display and leak light down into the reflective display. No matter how you try to do this it will require a thickness and THIS will separate your pen and the visual surface you are "writing" on. For me, this has nothing to do with price or "2020". This is one of many design decisions the Remarkable have done that some do not like but will give a better writing experience. Illuminate the room. If you cannot see what you write on paper, you will not see what you write on Remarkable. For me this is perfectly allright.

Just read the review on your website. They almost had me, until it mentioned you have to use an application to load ebook and pdfs onto it. Its like the 1990's with my Psion Series 3! Seriously though, it should be nothing more than a drive on desktop and drag files onto it. Dedicated apps should be a thing of the past.

@@MD-mh2bj File transfer is not as complicated as stated in the video. You can either use the remarkable software to just drag and drop files onto the device and it will transfer over the cloud. Or if you dont want to use the cloud system you can go into the settings and enable the web interface, then you can just navigate to its web page when connected via usb and drag & drop to transfer. If using cloud transfer then you don't need to worry about having a cable or even being by your tablet, next time you turn on the remarkable it will sync.

@@MD-mh2bj That's fair, but would mean more development for them and an extra thing to debug. Adding additional points of failure for a very new OS and device. As it is purely a software limitation it could quite easily be added further down the line as the USB can transmit data as well as power.

If it goes out for such a high price ($400) I would instead buy an 7th gen iPad with pencil and paperlike screen protector (around $30 more expensive), I mean you won't have the same feeling at the writing but at least you will have the option to write with different colous which is a very high priority thing for me as my notes are all color coded, plus you have a fully functional device that can browse the internet, watch movies, create presentations etc. This would be a must buy if it retailed at around $100-$150

You can upload your files on the PC or mobile app and when you connect wifi in remarkable, automatically check the changes with your cloud library. If they are new books/ files or you delete anything, the remarkable library updates to show that changes.
