What I really loved was how you answered each other's questions, (gosh I'm such a teacher aren't I.) Anyway, keep going with that in the comments! Kind thanks for being in the audience!

I have a Supernote Nomad -- Love it. I ordered the RM Pro to see. Curious what you prefer: Supernote Nomad, RM2, or RM Pro? I know they are different. I guess I'm going purely for user experience. I consolidate all my notes via Obsidian, so linking between notes within the device is less important for me. Thank you for the videos

Did get one on the day, I was a little late though so no shipping info yet (it said 10-21 business days delivery when I ordered). Thanks for a really comprehensive review/Q&A-session! So far I haven't seen anything that's turned me off from it entirely, but I am interested to get my hands on it and see how I like the flickering. The squiggly lines from the new marker does bug me a little bit though, I wish they didn't have that drawback. The RM2 and RM1 markers have consistently felt like they're showing me *exactly* what I write, which I've loved. That said, some color support and a frontlight is big. I read a lot of PDF's of academic papers etc, just having some manner of color so that I can tell plots apart matters a lot - gone are the days where you'd put symbols on each plot line for it to work in black and white, it seems.. excited to try it and see, I'm not as enthusiastic as I was at first, but still excited

To me the biggest upgrade is having the light. That's major. Writing in the dark is great. But I'm having a hard time acclimating to this glass screen. It's textured, far more than the rM2, but it's slippery and I don't know if I can get used to this. I'd be settling because of how great it is to have the light. If the rM2 had a front light, I'd be fine. That screen/marker combo is a great writing experience. More resistance. All that to say, I'm looking for one of those screen covers that add some drag to the writing experience. I miss being able to write lightly without slipping. Any suggestions?

Kind of you to post this detail in-depth look at the paper pro. I have failed to spend time with a used Supernote I got though understand it has many software tools vs the RM line. DId give up in the onscreen keyboard thu figure using the pen to select letters might work well; it does fine if doing that on my RM2. My RM2 keyboard is going back to Bestbuy. Some might find it ok to be limited to RM native file format for typing into (I infer) though feel this is to limiting to me. Will wait for the Supernote A5X2 review sometime this month (if I got that model name right), a slightly larger A5X might be nice if they can slim the height down a bit. If I get the Paper pro it won’t be ordered until around end of the month or first week of October. Want to try it out at my local Bestbuy first if possible…if they get one on display. Like the 300dpi though Amazon made little effort to make it a device for creating, storing and up/down loading docs. Seems a likewise limiting factor with RM to a degree. The whole move to cloud then sync’d at both ends seems to be an issue maybe with RM. Keep up the great videos, they are enjoyable. Like writing feel on both RM2 and Supernote, both are nice in my book. Could live without color depending on price and device feature set. Time will tell plus price point to a degree. Maybe paper pro v2 will address any pdf sounds when turning pages. And/or offer a non-color Rm3 paper pro

In my opinion, the whole value proposition of ReMarkable is that “it writes like paper”. When I see the flash at every stroke on the Gallery 3 color, it’s a hard “no” for me. It’s my anniversary this week, and I was thinking of the ReMarkable 2 or ReMarkable Pro. I just purchased the ReMarkable 2 ONLY because the the flashing is way too distracting. I want my wife to love the E-Paper experience. I simply don’t think she’d be impressed with the “it feels like paper”, but flashes like a 1990’s desktop computer.

@frinktl9716Ай бұрын
I happened to have a few thoughts as I watched the live stream: (1) If you set the contrast to on and swipe down from the upper right, do you get a contrast slider next to the backlight slider? (2) How come no one - and I've watched meant videos on the Paper Pro - is talking about how reMarkable put a dip in the top and bottom of their folio where the spine is to avoid the annoying wear/fraying that's happened to my RM2 folio? Talk about paying attention to the details! (3) With each video I find myself noticing how software releases over the last year for my RM2 (like the quick settings in the upper right) were likely incremental changes for the Paper Pro/integrating the two devices on the platform.
@bluein2red423Ай бұрын

Hey Kit, I really like your videos and I take them as the ultimate guide for e-inks. I need your opinion; I entered the e-ink tablet world by getting the rM2 and I loved it but I had to return it because of the small storage and I was afraid that it'll get filled quickly. Then I bought the Boox Note Air 3 C, I wouldn't say that I love it but it does the job for me. Now after the release of rM Paper Pro I kinda feel that I wanna go back to rM but I'm a bit hesitant because of the intensive refreshing that it has to do when dealing with colors. Also, now that the Super Note A5X2 is very close to launch and maybe I should wait for it and see what Ratta has for us. My main usage is taking notes and I use the colors when I write titles and subtitles to my notes and thats it. So what do you think ? :D

The reMarkable is very Apple-like, whereas Boox is very Android-like (even literally). Selling a reMarkable is selling a lifestyle. Its value is very subjective, but wins die-hard fans. Respectfully, no. The remarkable is a distraction free device. My boox, out of the box had 64 apps to update. I want to write Ive got a slider and crazy shaders and loads of options. The remarkable doesn't even have a clock, I pick it up and write on it. The writing on my RM pro is not even comparable to the boox 10.3 C, it's just not. The remarkable does what it does it will do, allow me to get into flow distraction free. No apps to constantly update, no click, no millions of customization options. In psychology we call this reductionist theory, and it is real. The boox is fantastic and I love it, but make no mistake the remarkable is not purchase because millions of people are just stupid and fall for pretty advertising videos on their glowing rectangle. That's a very one dimensional and narrow assumption, not rooted in any evidence. Plain and simple, I tap the button and write and that's all my experience ever is with the remarkable. It's not like that with the boox, constant app updates, loads of distractions, notifications, even the fact you have to turn the notifications off is a distraction. The remarkable is truly distraction free. The color flash, it's a smart refresh. He's purposely choosing to stop and force it to refresh... Ivd had my hand on screen nonstop for entire coloring without a single refresh. It only refreshes after you have lifted pen off for some time, and it appears to be proximity based from the pad as well. If I lift it off but keep tip close, it won't refresh. I would argue this is a dishonest take on the color since he's forcing the refreshes. The device allows you to continue to color all over the place without a single refresh. It's only when you stop entirely away from pad and for a few seconds that it refreshes. Even then there are some proximity things where it won't because it knows I'm coming back to draw, it definitely is intelligent refresh. , and the refresh also doesn't "lock" the screen from action either, you csn keep doing whatever it is you're typing or touching without any delay. The average use case for me is highlighting with color and writing certain things in red, so the refresh is not an issue, and again.. It's a smart refresh. In ACTUAL workflow you'll notice it refreshes when you're not doing anything for that split second. Just Actually use the the device as you want, and you'll see what's shown in this video is not accurate. Take a peek at all the professional artists on reddit posting their RM pro stuff Vs boox, it's night and day and they would be the ones who can speak about this. The boox is fantastic, but if you want a distraction free device as remarkable claims, you do get that. It sounds like it's not for you and that's okay, but I don't appreciate you making a shallow comment that the people who do buy remarkable are just buying a "fake vision" and are sold by good ads.
