Ordered the Supernote Nomad two days ago. This device is exactly the same size as the paper notebooks I wrote on my whole life. If this size device doesn’t work for me not sure what I’ll do. At this point I’ve tried an older Boox device (felt cheap, slow), a Scribe (1st gen, before software updates, didn’t love device size), tested a Remarkable (would never use due to size and lack of reading options)… so I’m crossing fingers that the Nomad is the one for me!

that was my thought but I printed out the A6x and a5x ‘lifesize’ guids from supernote and while the device is the same size as my A5 notepads, the usable screen is almost half (which is why it probalby says A6 - the usable screen is about A6 size which is half A5). I think it might be ok but I’m worried it’ll be too small. The A5x (and coming A5X2) have a full A5 paper sized screen which is ideal, but the downside is the device itself is quite a bit bigger due to bezels etc.

Watched late, but I bought an A5X during the pandemic after watching many videos and reading reviews. I had to wait for delivery and loved it from the moment it arrived. It seemed that every time the system I developed started running into walls or becoming frustrating, an update would arrive with features that I didn't really think I needed, but eventually were incorporated into a newer workflow that made the old seem like the stone age. I can't think of any other purchase that I've made that so improved that it's been like buying a new device with every update for just the cost of hitting the update button.

I've been using a RM2 for the past year. I've very much enjoyed the device for what it is-- but I'll be ordering the A5X2 on day one, because I appreciate the vision for the Supernote line and it's capable of so much more. The Nomad looks like a terrific little device, but I just need something bigger. Boox' devices have always seemed clumsy and awkward to me, although the new Go 10.3 inch looks the closest to what I'd currently want in an e-ink device.

It is great that you do these reviews on all of theses tablets and e ink readers and tablets. They are very helpful.

I agree Ed, since I purchased in 2022, the features has really made it a more useful device today even more than in 2022. I come to love the Supernote so much more and it’s become the device for me. I look forward to the A5X2 Crystal Edition.

That's an interesting point. With the semi-folio design, I wonder if the Crystal edition is possible since it wraps the device.

on the onenote thing, I've got a Microsoft go 3 and it isn't very good on there - so I'm not surprised it's rubbish on the snote. I also have a 5x and use it every day, i want a new toy and it is between the a5x2 and the upcoming boox 10". Waiting for the reviews before I shell out. Tried boox years ago and it was just too complicated, I'm not stupid but wasn't prepared to put in the effort to conquer the learning curve.

I’ve tried my ipad with pdf planner templates - now looking at e-ink. Should I dismiss background OCR as a required feature (which rejects RM2 for instance) as I can easily refer back to previous days/notes etc using a pdf planner; or do you find being able to occasionally search for handwritten text is useful when needing to reference back to something? this would be for work use, project planning so I’d be searching meeting notes etc which tend to have a fairly short shelf life..

Struggling to decide between the A6x or an A4 (tab x or wait for something else to drop). I have a tab ultra but, with the keyboard especially, it's heavy and clunky. I could drop the keyboard if I have the A4 product at home or can leave the tab ultra at home if I have the A6 product in my bag. I'm leaning towards the A6 as I think the ultra can do most of tab x functions with the exception of the desired split screen (a bit small). The A6 may be small itself but suitable for on the go notes or notes in the office. Also nicer writing feel potentially! Something for me to keep considering anyway. Good video chaps, informative as always.
