So...I just want to take time to appreciate the fact that not only did you willingly record the ride through of this, but you also willingly went there in 2006 when absolutely nobody else would, AND you stopped and taped the queue show even though there was literally nobody in the line and you almost certainly would have gotten funny looks for doing that, AND you even went on a second time just to get a full recording of the side screen alongside it. I am in shock and awe of the dedication you went through to document this ride. I never got to personally go on it myself but this looks like a really neat ride that combines thrill and education very effectively. And since I've been on Star Tours, I think I have a pretty good idea of what this ride was like! Serious props for the recording. And you even gave us the 60fps version. It's so refreshing to see someone else who actually knows how interlacing works. Good job!

I have a different story... I have a love of the insides of the human body because it makes me feel good inside. Everybody has something that makes them feel like that, and for me it's that. People think it's gross; well, I do, because we are inside a woman's body (look closely at when the shield lowers), and I prefer men as the "hosts." I remember the only thing I saw being done with a female was really gross. This might be an exception, as I thought it was a man when I first rode this ride in 2006, and hell, the subject even looks like a man at the end. Perhaps, they switched actors.

This was the best simulator ever. The constant panicked narration combined with the extremely unpredictable movement really makes you feel helpless. I would get chills every time. At least in star tours you're dealing with enemies and an environment run by sapient beings. It's much more twisted when you're just being tempest tossed the whole time as the crew alternates from being horrified to in awe every five seconds. Only thing that bugged me is knowing people threw up in there which I mean I would be so pissed if someone threw up inside my body. Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post this, I know it's been many years but sometimes I get flashes of memory and look for stuff like this. I rode this as a kid in the 90s back when it had lines and I especially appreciate you recording the queue, pre-show, and other little bits - the kind of odd things I noticed as a kid like the signs and pictures really took me back. Also interesting tidbit, the actor who plays mission control in this is the admiral who gives command of Voyager to Janeway in the first episode of that show. He's done 1000 other things but when I was a kid watching voyager and then riding this ride, I remember recognizing him from that. I also still remember vividly an interactive piece just outside of this ride that explained how we feel hot and cold via touch. There were metal coils, one cold, then one warm, but the last one had alternating warm/cold and you could barely stand to touch it because your body was essentially telling you that it was incredibly hot even though it was barely room temperature. Super cool. I think of it more often than you'd expect, like touching the towel bar while in a hot shower, or.. other examples I can't think of right now but I'm surprised how often I've noticed that phenomenon in day to day life as an adult. Thanks again for this - and your other videos (which I'm pouring through now).

All my life I had this weird flashback/dream of a ride that took my through the human body and I thought it was all in my head. I really did. I’m pretty shocked this is real and I had any memory of it given I was so young when I went on this apparently. Well at least it was a real memory and I’m not crazy 😂

@@ProudSwifty157 The one thing I saw where they went inside of a girl, a Magic School Bus episode where they went into Janet's nose to study smell, really grossed me out. The other episodes with this trope I saw used guys, like Captain Planet (where the Planeteers went into Kwame and had to rid him of waterborne parasites) and Toonami (where Clyde went into TOM after Swayzak infected him.) Also, the Sabrina episode where she ended up inside of Libby scared me as a kid. The set for the inside of her was creepy. All that made me dislike endo done with women, even if I am bi. I only do my stuff with men. And I sure as hell do not use kids (youngest I'll get are 18 year olds.)

This was the 1st and only ride I ever vomited on. I puked like a freshman. It would have gotten all over everyone in the simulator, if there had been anyone else on the ride. I still feel really bad for the cast members that had to clean it up. I offered to help but they rushed me to the trash can and then to a restroom as quick as they could. I got a free T-shirt and bottle of water from management.

Rode this MANY times as a young child growing up. Had the family passes when they first came out, was a lot of fun. When the ride first came out I remember the wait times exceeding 2 hours. Seemed so futuristic and incredible to a young kid. :) I really liked your video having the box in the corner zoomed on the "cockpit". Thanks so much for this flashback.

I went in 95. In 99, I rode the horrendous second version, where the ride insults you at the beginning. Needless to say, I like the first one better.

Figment was only gone from '99-02. The second version of Imagination was so unpopular it got the axe in near-record time. I took a survey last week at Epcot and flat out asked the proctor about Imagination. His response was that while the current attraction might not stay, Figment will always be a part of Epcot due to his sheer popularity. Figment is going nowhere.

This was so much fun! I heard about this, today, on a podcast episode. I recognized Mr. Matthews, first, then Mr. Matheson. I didn't recognize Ms. Bellenson or Ms. Shue, because unlike male actors, women aren't allowed to keep one easily-recognized hairstyle. I try not to think of the busload of boat anchors that were really what drained the ship's power cells. ;-)
