Take a look back at this "hidden gem" of Epcot at the Wonders of Life Pavilion as Buzzy learns to pilot a twelve-year-old named Bobby.

Hi. Scott Curtis here. The voice of Buzzy, and also the 12 yr old Bobby. A sincere thank you to CFSAS for not only filming this, but for the remaster. It looks great! I came out to see CC in 1995 and was completely blown away. I had only seen this in the mock up at Disney Studios in Burbank, and finally seeing it in the theater blew that mock up away. It was one of my favorite credits and it’s really nice to see it had such a following with true fans. I had no idea the success it had... it was pre internet. Again thank you for putting in all the effort to capture something that I was so honored to do. Long live Buzzy! And I really hope he is stored somewhere and not stolen. And a thank you to Robin Lopez of the NBA for returning Buzzy’s clothes when he found out they were stolen... such a great gesture.

In the days when this was first made, you'd probably never get a signal inside the building, especially since its doubtful that Disney would have had cell transmitters on their property back when cell phones were just a luxury for rich businessmen. Hell, even when cell phones were gaining popularity, a solid building could obliterate reception. New advancements in antenna technology and the wide proliferation of cell towers is why we can enjoy reception even indoors away from windows now.

To anyone claiming the Buzzy animatronic was stolen, I think some clarification is needed. After finding this out, I texted an ex-girlfriend who has worked at Disney World for years and asked her directly. She confirmed that there WAS indeed a theft at Cranium Command, though it wasn't the animatronics, but rather Buzzy's hat, coat and rubber gloves. There's supposedly a huge collector demand for Disney park memorabilia, so things like this happening aren't new. So where did Buzzy go exactly? Simple. In order to prevent any further theft, they retired both him and the Hypothalumus animatronic and stowed them away for safe keeping. No confirmation on the supposed hydraulic oil leak or why he was removed in such a slap-dash manner, but we speculated that it was simply because the ride was defunct already and there was no reason to keep the wires in any sort of working condition. Long story short, it would have been impossible for anyone to actually steal this thing, let alone both Buzzy and Hypothalumus. Between the weight of the animatronics, the distance that multiple people would have to go in order to move them without being spotted and the means of even having back-and-forth access, it's a completely unrealistic scenario. The simplest answers are usually the right ones.
@Moonfire1214 жыл бұрын
The problem with that is that it's extremely unsafe to just cut those cords like that. It would be way easier and safer to unplug it. The only logical explanations that doesn't involve stealing is that some rookie did a crap job at removing Buzzy safely, and/or it got lost on it's way to archives. If Disney did have it surely they would say something, but it's very likely they don't. Here's some in-depth theories: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKaYk4WVbZ6Kbbc

I'll admit that this show had a really interesting premise, but in the end i completely understand why they closed it because the wonders of life pavilion as a whole was becoming so outdated that if it was still open today i think it would have a very hard time appealing to modern day theme park goers because every attraction in the pavilion sadly looked like it belonged in the 1990s. There are far more appealing attractions at epcot anyway. At least the pavilion itself is still at epcot today so it will never fade from the memories of the people who got to experience it.

Anyone asking why did they shut this down, notice that this person didn’t sneak into the park and turn on the ride, this is a fully opened Epcot Wonder of Life Pavilion on what seems to be a nice day in Orlando, FL. NO ONE went to this pavilion after like 2003 at the latest. I do miss it dearly, but am glad the times have changed and I more miss my childhood than the actual exhibit. I kinda miss the days when Epcot wasn’t one of the more popular parks at Disney and it was frequently this empty, especially in the offseasons (October-November or late January-Early March).

Seeing this I've pretty much fallen in love with Buzzy's character (he reminds me of Radar) though it's a bit weird Buzzy has a different voice in the pre-show and the main attraction. I doubt they would run animatronic on hydraulics, since hydraulics have a slow response time and poor precision control. Most are actuated by solenoid motors and electric stepper motors to allow a grater degree of responsiveness and precision over what hydraulics and pneumatics can offer. Generally you use hydraulics when the load is very heavy, since hydraulics aren't constrained as much by mass as a self contained actuator. You can have a big hydraulic pump elsewhere that can work to move a great load without adding a lot to that load or the load of the support structure.

This is like watching a child's version of SNL, reason being, the ventricles are Hanz and Franz.

Never gotten to experience this till now and I can see why buzzy was so be love let us hope maby one day this'll be reborn maby with a inside out style reboot

I can see why they removed this ride. It was incredibly outdated, even in 2006. Unfortunately, this was not a timeless classic. It's amazing they kept it going as long as they did. I remember enjoying it as a kid in the 90s, though.

No wonder, as I'd personally like to refer to this as the boogeyman of theme park attractions based on the only two experiences I've had there, along with my family's reception from said experiences.

I can't believe they actually insult someone at the end of this. And the earnest refrance was funny.

Wow, this is a blast from the past! I went to this thing too, way back in 1998, and I thought it was pretty fun. So sad to know that it's gone now.

Absolutely one of my very favorite attractions ever at Walt Disney World! So good to get to visit it again, however distantly.

This should get remade into an Inside Out attraction.

in the future they should replace this with a inside out themed ride
@ThereMayBeLions6 жыл бұрын
Tyler Daise Its certainly plausible, as the attraction is mostly still there. All you need is the interest...

It's a shame that rides like this and Body Wars didn't last on a smaller scale until New rides could join them.

Kind of weird to see all these Disney attractions that they just never bothered to destroy or even block off (in some cases).
