For some reason this vid got more views than recently, I want to apologize that it's a bit all over the place compared to my previous dev blogs--this time I didn't really have a proper list of stuff to go through, but if I do an episode #2 I'll be sure to put more effort in since you guys seem to like these.

I know most people flock to Black Ops 3 and say it's the pinnacle of call of duty zombies but the smaller niche audience who preferred the World at War days really appreciate this!

I wish future cod zombies games go back to waw style zombies, no major easter eggs, just survival like the 4 original waw zombies maps.

Something I would love for this mod to have: The addition of COD3 germans, I feel like they'd be a great addition to the appearences of the zombies, maybe adding them to Nacht and Verrukt would be a good way to go

Really the only thing missing from console hud now is the original points font and the scale of it all, 2 entirely unnoticable things. Bravo.

Yeah the font, safe area, and X on reload hint are missing. Would need to modify the engine. Also I think the safe looks bad on monitors so I wouldn’t even want to use it

Glad to see you're still doing stuff with this mod. Have you thought about doing something similar with BO1, 2, or 3? I ask because I love how complete and polished it makes WaW Zombies feel compared to the base version.

BO1 Reimagined and BO2 Reimagined already kind of serve that niche, they make a lot of good changes to the base gameplay like balance changes, more menu options, adding removed content, making Easter eggs completable with any number of players, etc.

I have a fork of BO1 reimagined in development it's on my github. No plans for bo2, you also can only mod with Pluto. no official tools

Aim assist is huge for Steam Deck users. Thank you for adding that! Honestly more games need to because the SD is mostly stick-based

Nah, games need to move away from aim assist & just implement adjustable response curves & telescoping sticks that allow you to aim for yourself. Aim assist is and has always been a cancer. Close only counts for horseshoes & handgrenades.

@@1nfamyX As long as the game teaches me how to adjust my aim, fine. But without that, I'd rather game and not worry how aim assist works than try to figure it out without gaming. Just a preference. How I value my time

@@1nfamyX I'm saying that give me a default aim assist overlay to my stick-based controls. I am also ok with developers pulling back the curtains and giving gamers who care about this stuff more control over the aim assist by adjusting curves and delays and tweaking settings. This doesn't have to be one or the other. World At War didn't have "selectable" aim assist, if that's what you want to call the above and what we're talking about. It has aim assist on console, and none on PC. As someone new to the Steam Deck, and who played W@W on Xbox for years, this is just a preference I want. Maybe we can give feedback to JB about adding more granularity to the aim assist part of his W@W mod. Clearly he's smart enough to change it. If you're so passionate about it, maybe you can tell him, or even better write the code yourself and serve it up to him. I'm just expressing my gratitude for what's clearly a passion project

glad you like it, this video was a bit all over the place but if you're interested you should checkout the README on the github page it goes over almost every single change. Still need to update it a bit more, though

With the mods, I forgot is double tape 1.5x damage and still 33% fire rate?

33% buff to both fire rate and damage. vanilla is the same 33% except just for fire rate. bo2 double tap is a 100% buff to damage (2x), so mine is much more subtle

Day one? The mod has been released to download for 3 years dude. Also, yes, it would be the first time a regular mod/custom map made with the official tools would be taken down. Activison only takes down stuff made without official tools and custom clients/piracy. Why would they take down mods we made with the mod tools they gave us? They never have.

Nah, I know these maps can get boring after all these years but I still want to stay true to their roots so people can more or less play what feels just like the vanilla game. It wouldn't be too hard to add more perks though, this mod is open source as well. Same as adding them to a custom map in terms of the code, but for in game you have to spawn the model with code instead of placing it in radiant

What are u talking about. The mod does not “use” a custom version of T4M. You can use any version of T4M you’d like, including the fork on my github (which has a pre release version with DXVK…) Also, doesn’t “support” DXVK? Thats not really how it works, you either have it or you don’t, and most people don’t want it, why would I encourage people to use it. IMO should be something on the side, not the default version

@@FatheredPuma81 All good man no worries. Also to be fair that was Clippy who added that feature into T4Me as an experimental version, it’s a colab project between both of us. It didn’t work well on my pc so i just stick to our regular release r48 (not the pre release DXVK test), it has some features i enjoy but whichever one you want is fine

I hate to be that guy, but give up on this, Activision is just gonna take it down. Use your talent and creative skills on something of your own. Activision is a scummy company and unfortunately doesn't like people making free fan games for their franchise 😢

Did you even watch the video? This is a MOD using the officially licensed mod tools owned by Activison following all of their terms of use, used on the official version of WAW. I am not making a “free fan game”. You are the second person to comment this, please don’t compare my mod to custom clients/entirely new games made using unofficial tools, it’s not the same. People have been making custom mods and maps on WAW for over 10 years now, and not a single one has ever been taken down. My mod is not like H2M, BOIII, plutonium , etc.
