PP, I started watching your play 10 years ago, and made a combo video of your marth after watching nearly every tournament set of yours available on KZbin. I've consumed an incredible amount of your marth gameplay, and it was the foundation of my marth when I still played. Watching this video felt strangely comforting, like going back in time to a simpler era of my life. I look at a handful of neutral interactions and it's clear right away - this is ppmd's marth. It's all still there, all the little nuances and play style preferences are unmistakable. I remember you doing a reddit ama when I was still garbage at the game, and I asked some straightforward marth ditto question that any reasonably good marth could answer. And instead of ignoring it you wrote out a nice detailed response for a simple question. If you ever choose to enter tournaments again, we will be there cheering you on time and time again regardless of placement. I look at this video and I see the marth that made armada give up on the matchup. Once your marth learns the new age tricks and gets some polish you can make it back to the top.

Interesting seeing this matchup in today's meta. Llod is the best peach playing today and he does some stuff better than Armada but Armada's peach was built different. Armada perfected the recovery and edgeguard options far beyond any other Peach to this day for instance. PPMD undestands matchups and game plans probably better than anyone in the world . He is desperately needed to advance the game even further beyond. I think PPMD if he started entering tournaments again would slowly but surely have an excellent chance to rise to #1 again. How cool would that be?

PPMD's Marth actually has won more against Armada's Peach than lost. Their Falco Vs Peach was pretty abysmal for PP, Falco vs Armada's Fox Being even, and Armada's fox edging it out vs his Marth. Would've been an interesting counterpicking spread if PP had kept playing, Armada got quite lucky tbh with the few people who had a good shot at potentially consistently beating him not really being present a whole lot tbh (PP quit, Leffen unable to attend with visa, Wizzy and Zain too young) I'd be super interested to see how Armada would hold up against the crazy defensive improvements that are now basically available to everyone, unfortunately will probably never see it though.

@@garydalessandro2936 actually a couple of my people i met on a public server also had this god awful player complex where they think melee is boring without the old players and always keep calling anyone who didnt play pre slippi era a "nobody". Poor players work so hard just to get called nobodies by a bunch of losers online. Personally i really appreciate the addition of new players, if you saw summit youd know people like salt, jmook ,frenzy, lloD, mekk, are all climbing the ranks at a very high pace, and its wonderful to see the community being revived. The new players are breathing life into the community at this time of need, we need people to support them.
