I know this isn't the place for this kind of thought since it's a TT and not another day at Le Tour, but I thought this the last few days with the recent sprints... "I miss Peter Sagan". (also why is the green jersey such a crappy dark green now, why isn't it a bright, grass shade of green so we can actually see it from the helicopter like the yellow jersey. Weird)
@CopyableOak7 ай бұрын
Skoda went to a darker green for their corporate colours a couple of years ago and the green jersey was changed to reflect that, though I agree, it should be a brighter shade, or at least have something added to it in order to make it clearer to see from the overhead shots.

I mean we have an ITT later that is way more hilly (double the climb) and only flat for the last 5km which will suit him way more. Everything can happen in the last week. u can easily lose 4-5 minutes there. Also 14/15 are pretty tough.
@rolandhochmuth19517 ай бұрын
Jonas is doing great so far and it is way too early. The prior mountain stages (avg 5.2%) and todays ITT (mostly flat) favored other riders, like Tadej. Some of the upcoming mountain stages (14, 15 and 17 in particular) will favor a fit Jonas in-theory. The climbs are steeper (~ 8% grade in some climbs), have uphill finishes, and the weather will be hotter. The last ITT also involves a climb. It is way too early to conclude anything about this years Tour as the real challenges are still a week away.

@ervin71787 ай бұрын
Remco is fast on flat TT cause he is super aero,
@rejdy7 ай бұрын
Pog has lost some upper body weight recently, so I believe the difference is lower. Nevertheless, Remco is clearly better regarding the position on the TT bike, he gains here clearly from aero point of view. His strength is also probably controlled ride around FTP with final surge/kick, but on long climb where they get to VO2max zone during attacks, Pog is better, in recovering from these Z5/Z6 attacks as well...
@rejdy7 ай бұрын
Also, the position on TT bike is specific with muscles working differently, breathing is more difficult. So, theoretically, it suits Remco more, whereas Pog is not able to produce same power output as on standard bike - just speculation.

@nt78stonewobble7 ай бұрын
I think that considering the crash and the lack of training, Jonas did quite well. Unlike last year, he didn't get to ride the TT route before hand, nor get much time in on TT bike for practice. Physically he's probably lacking a few percent and probably mentally as well, but he still did quite ok. I actually think the top 4 did rather acceptable to well, considering their individual differences, circumstances and what not. Evenepool is the world champion in TT, so he "should" be the best. Pogacar looks leaner and way more focused than last year and did better than last year, great even. Roglich seemed to ride a smart one and is within reach of the others, unhampered by accidents. Vingegaard seemed to be below his best, but that is to be expected with lack of training after the accident. Hopefully they all get more days to shine in this tour and we can get some real competition going.
