“Albert was quite a brave man to actually go on the pitch in the first place, wasn’t he? And he went out and did it. He had a lot of skill. A nice man as well… which is, I suppose, the more important thing, isn’t it? More important than anything,” GEORGE BEST.

My Dad told me of Albert as I grew up. He said Albert was one of the best players he ever saw. Albert could take control of the ball at full sprint, the ball thight high, and he never missed a step. Ran past players like they were never there. Thabks fir telling me Dad, and thanks to Albert. Thanks to to Mr Apfel, kept Alberts medals all these years. We both owe him.

These Football Times article brought me here. Never knew anything about him prior to reading the article. American pretty new to the sport, besides playing FIFA lol enjoying digging into the history of the sport. R.I.P Albert, legacy won't ever be tarnished in my eyes.

Sad to hear that the only stories are about him being an alcoholic. Barely any positive memories are mentioned. He lived such a sad life

Leeds' top scorer in their promotion season 63-64. Scored a goal against Newcastle that took everyone's breath away.

I wonder how much racism played a part in Albert's mental health and eventual drink problems, he would have got real support these days, such a shame
